The Everlane Day Glove Review

Will you ever get sick of me writing about Everlane? I really hope not, because the products they are putting out keep getting better and better. If I ever rebrand, should I just call it “Something Good at Everlane”? Ha! One of the things I really love about the company is that I think I’ve learned more about clothing production from them than any other company. For instance, because of the shirt I’m wearing in this post, I learned amazing things about the production of silk. Did you know that it’s an incredibly dirty industry? By that I mean that the production of it can cause energy waste and use toxic dyes. But this silk shirt is one of the many clean silk pieces that Everlane has began making. They use safer dyes and an energy efficient process to create their pieces and that’s just the first step.

But I’m actually not here to talk about clean silk today. Nope. Today we’re actually hear to talk about something I’ve been preaching about the last few months: the Everlane Day Gloves.

Everlane Day Glove

Everlane claimed that these were the most comfortable shoes that you could do basically anything in and they would mold to your foot. No blisters, bleeding, etc. Well, I’ll tell you, my feet are the most ridiculously sensitive things. I swear they blister at the tiniest bit of rubbing. It’s super annoying. So when Everlane made these claims, you could bet that I was up for the challenge. I bought a pair of the blue Day Gloves at the end of April and they arrived just in time for my trip to New York at the beginning of May. I wore them to work on Friday and they worked pretty well, no issues and I made it on to the train and to NYC, no problems.

The first day, I wasn’t sure how much we were going to be walking, but I knew I could always change shoes, so I threw on the Day Gloves. We ended up walking about 19,500 steps that day and I wore the Day Gloves all day. My feet were blister free. No bleeding, Nothing. Yes, they were a little tired, but the kind of tired you would expect from walking 19,500 steps. I figured it had to be a flaw, so the next day I threw them on again. Again, 19,700 steps. No blisters, no bleeding.

Yup, you read that right. By the end of the trip I had walked almost 40,000 steps to BREAK THEM IN and got zero blisters or bleeding. Basically, I was ready to worship these shoes at this point. Honestly, I’ve basically worshiped them since. I’ve also bought them in 4 colors, in addition to the pair I’m wearing in these pictures, which Everlane sent me. I’m a firm believer in when you find something good you buy it in multiple colors and these shoes are no exception to that.

So if I’ve convinced you of how amazing they are, let’s get to the more important part.

How To Wear Everlane Day Gloves

One of the great things about the Everlane Day Glove is that they’re really versatile in what they go with. I’ve worn them for work, on the weekends, and when I’m going to random events. They’ve really become my new go-to for most things.

There are some times though when I wouldn’t necessarily pull out my Day Gloves. For instance, I’ve found that they don’t really work well with my maxi dresses. Additionally, if the dress code has the word “formal” in it, these aren’t the right shoe. Now, you can use them as your commuter shoe to get to and from said event, in fact I highly encourage it. But I wouldn’t wear it at an office that has a business formal dress code or a formal wedding. Also, while yes, they are really comfortable, these aren’t your workout shoes. Go buy a pair of sneakers.

Where To Wear It

The Office

One of my favorite things about these shoes is how versatile they are. They can make a great commuter shoe, but if you forgot your heels, they totally pass as work appropriate. There have been a few times I’ve worn my Day Heel to work, but thrown my Day Gloves in my bag, just in case. I wouldn’t necessarily wear my Everlane Day Glove with business formal, but they’re a perfect pair for business casual or casual. I’d pair them with a dress or a pair of ankle work pants with a simple top.

Running Errands

I love wearing these when I need to run errands but I don’t want to wear sneakers. You look put together, but you’re still super comfortable. In this case I’ve paired them with jeans and a tee.

Traveling

I love these for traveling. You can wear them to sprint across a crowded airport and then you have the perfect comfortable flat for exploring the city. On my travel days, I’ve pair my Everlane Day Glove with jeans, a tee, and an oversized cardigan.

Going Out

I know I said no formal events, but you can still wear them to go out for the evening! I paired my white day gloves with this cute dress for date night. They would also be super cute with my Everlane Wrap dress! Comfort and adorable. Is there anything better?
