Currently, Vol. 9

It’s time for another round of Currently! Here’s a little look at what’s currently going on in my life.

Currently, Vol. 9 | Something Good

doing

Nothing….and everything! Post-Thanksgiving is actually a little weird for me because it’s  kind of a downtime. I use my office being closed for the holidays to catch up on books, cooking, and tv that I’ve wanted to do. This year, I’m splitting my time in half to go home for a bit, but my time spent in DC will definitely be spent doing very little. Until then, I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to watch, read, and cook.

enjoying

This Is Us. I just love this show. I’m so happy to finally have a drama that’s just about a good story and good acting. No gimmicks, no crazy twists, or zombies. If you haven’t watched it, then you need to. Right now.

cooking

I’m all about my slow cooker right now! I finally got a new slow cooker and I’ve been trying to decide what I want to make next. if you have any suggestions, please send them my way.

wrapping

…Up the end of my year! And some white elephant presents. And a baby present. I’m really just wrapping up a bunch of random things right now.

playing.

The Oregon Trail Card Game. Yup, I gave in and got it! I haven’t gotten the chance to play it yet, but I have a feeling it’s going to be traveling back to Wisconsin with me at the end of the month.

So what are you currently up to? And as always, linking up with Anne for the Currently Link Up

  1. Flavia Bernardes on

I’ve been dying to watch “This is Us”… I heard so many good things about it, and I love Milo Ventimiglia 😀 I didn’t know it was on amazon… Now I can finally start watching it 🙂

  2. I am LOVING my slow cooker more than ever right now. Cold weather and busy holiday schedules means I like easy and less clean up 🙂 I cannot believe I didn’t know there was an Oregon Trail card game?! Going to check it out right now! Stopping by from the link up 🙂

    • It’s such a great thing! Do you use the slow cooker bags so you don’t even have to wash out the slow cooker when it’s done cooking?

  3. We call them crockpots here in Louisiana, and yes, mine is being used a ton! Just yesterday I made spaghetti sauce in it and supper was done in like 15 minutes! Yaaasss! Love the show, This Is Us, but I’m a few episodes behind. My FB was blowing up with the season finale though last night! Can’t wait to watch!

    • So it’s funny because I grew up calling it a crock pot (maybe that’s also a midwest thing), but I’ve also heard people call it a slow cooker!

  4. YES to This is Us! And I made this last night in our crock pot and it was DELICIOUS! http://tiphero.com/slow-cooker-honey-pork-roast/

  5. I need to start This is Us! And the slow cooker is a life changer- my kind of cooking!

  6. I absolutely LOVE This Is Us. It’s so so good!!

  7. Oooh so nice that your office closes for a while over the holidays. My work gets pretty light, and I love that, but it’s still there… And I’m enjoying This Is Us too. I decided the various storylines + the way you get the backstory of their growing up years makes it feel kind of book-like in the storytelling, and you know I’m going to think that is a good thing 🙂

    • It’s a nice surprise every year! It’s been really nice to have that break to do whatever I want.

I think you just described why I love This is Us so much! I didn’t realize until you said it, but yes, it’s just like a book. It’s slowly letting out bits and pieces of the story and letting you put everything together!

  8. Studying for finals has consumed all my time lol!

  9. I’ve been wanting to watch This is Us for a while. I love Milo Ventimiglia, plus it looks like an interesting show. (I was hooked on Pitch, on Fox, for a while, but it was only a 10 episode run, so…)

  10. Oh my gosh, I used to love Oregon Trail back in the day, lol. I’ve heard about the new card game but I haven’t checked it out yet. MY husband and I love playing card games together though so I might have to order it.

  11. Doing nothing is a nice change once in a while. And having a slow cooker definitely helps. Enjoy the season!
