Blogger Style Two Ways: The Everlane Tank Dress

I’ve done lots of series in my time as a blogger, but this one is quickly turning out to be my favorite. Yes, after only two posts. Maybe it’s because it’s funny to find out how many pieces Anne and I both actually have in our closets. Maybe because it pushes me to play with a piec3e I already have.. Either way, this series is just plain fun. Also, it gives me a chance to promote one of my favorite bloggers, so what could be better than that?

What’s Blogger Style Two Ways?

If you’re new to the blog and you’re already confused, I’ll explain really quickly. Anne (of Anne in Residence) and I have partnered for a monthly Blogger Style Two Ways series. Since we are basically closet twins, we thought it would be fun if each month we pick a piece that both of us have and then style it our own way. We’ll then share it with both of our readers and give you all a chance to see the same piece styled two ways. The best part? Anne and I don’t get to see each other’s outfits in advance. So I’m just as surprised as you when the posts go live!

Everlane Tank Dress

For this month’s two ways, we decided to style an Everlane Tank Dress. While Anne and I have been closet twins for quite a few years, the one area where we haven’t overlapped is Everlane. I’ve been a devotee (as you know), but she hadn’t been ready to take the plunge. Once she got this tank dress though? I’m pretty sure she’s come over to the Everlane side. I think I’ve finally gotten her.

The Actual Dress

While we don’t have the exact same Everlane Tank dress, the styles are pretty darn similar. Mine is from their GoWeave collection last year (I’ve linked to the exact dress above but it keeps going in and out of stock) and her Everlane Tank Dress is from their brand new luxe cotton collection. From what she’s told me, it’s the most comfortable dress ever. She’s almost talked me into buying it (but maybe in a different color).

How I Styled My Everlane Tank Dress

For styling my Everlane Tank Dress, I decided to go down the work road (another summer business casual outfit!). It’s really hard to wear scarves in the DC summer because it’s so hot, but I’ve found the best hack. Instead of winding it around my neck, I just drape it over my shoulders and knot it at the bottoms, like I did here. All the look of a scarf, none of the neck heat. I also paired it with these heels that I’m obsessed with. Like, so obsessed that I bought them in black, white, and snake skin (they were all marked down to $29). I talked about it in this post, but I can’t get over how comfortable. Or how they took no time to break in. When you find something good, you buy it in all of the colors!

Alright, well now that you’ve seen how I’ve styled my Everlane Tank Dress, head over to Anne’s post and see how she styled her dress!
