Hi, my name is Dana and I love Everlane’s Day Gloves too much. I think I actually started an instagram post very similarly recently about shoes. To go even broader, the theme of August is probably that I’ll bend all of the rules when it comes to shoes. I even said to my boyfriend the other day, “I invest in art, I just invest in the practical art that I can wear on my feet.”

So let’s talk August 2018 Budget.

It’s basically all Everlane and J.Crew Factory (and that quick jaunt to Loft). It wasn’t really expected, I went into August thinking it would be a low shopping month. But the more shopping I did, the more aggressive I’ve gotten about cleaning out my closet, returning purchases, and posting things to Poshmark. Maybe I just want to feel justified in my shopping, but at least it’s helping to even things out?

What’s nice though is that I’m in love with all of the pieces that I’ve kept. I’ve already worn the ones that aren’t too fall/chilly weather and I’m basically praying for a cool enough day to wear the other stuff.

So where is the rest of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Stuff?

Good question. The longer it sits, the less excited I am about keeping a bunch of it, which is great for my budget. There’s still a handful of stuff I’ve kept and I’m keeping. But, I was also waiting for the system to register my returns before I returned anything else. Those returns finally hit, so I can now look at everything clearly, kick out the things that once seemed shiny, and keep everything more practical. I was really hoping that this was going to be the year I wasn’t going to be swept up in the excitement of the Nordstrom sale….but here’s to hoping for next year. I should have my remaining Nordstrom purchases in next month’s post.

How did your August go? What did you get this month?
