It feels like it’s been a while since we’ve talked investing, isn’t it? Well, I may have not mentioned it on here, but don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten!

I’m still in the investing world and I’m still watching my my three accounts. You can visit this post or this post for a recap of the three accounts I started with and my progress.

For today’s post, I thought it might be fun to focus on just one of the companies and one of their tools that I’ve learned about. If you haven’t started using that tool, you can start using it then!

Acorns

After some back and forth with Acorns, I finally got them to verify and connect to my main bank account (yes, this still hadn’t happened). This allowed me to make a withdrawal at the end of June to help me finish paying off a credit card. Withdrawing from an investment account isn’t typically suggested since it can hinder growth, but in this case, I felt comfortable withdrawing the amount.

Acorn’s Found Money Tool

I’ve also looked more into Acorn’s Found Money Tool. Here, you can go through Acorns before making a purchase with your card that’s linked to Acorns. In exchange, the company will invest a percentage of your purchase or a certain cashback amount into your Acorns account. I really like the idea of using this option when I’m on sites that don’t use Giving Assistant or Ebates. They’ve also created a simple Chrome Extension to let you know if that store is eligible for Found Money. I think this tool will be an easy way to keep boosting my Acorn’s account.

Other Investing Accounts

Just as a reminder, the two other investing platforms I’m working with are Ellevest and Stash. Both have been working pretty well so far, but I’m excited to dive into each of these next like I’ve done with Acorns.

Let me know if you have any questions about Acorn’s Found Money Tool or any of the platforms I’ve mentioned. I’m excited to share what I’ve been learning with you! If you have any knowledge you’d also like to share with me, please let me know in the comments.
