Wrapping Up 2013

It’s been quite a year: starting the year in Israel, finishing grad school, starting a full time job, moving to a brand new city, re-starting up this blog, and ending the year in my new home. I have to say though, I’ve really been happy with how this year turned out, with all of it’s ups and downs (and trust me, there were quite a few).

Thanks to this blog and it’s new direction, I’ve been able to be much better about my spending and figuring out what kind of things I know work for me. For instance:

– I love scarves and I look forward to winter just so I can break them out
– Fail-safe outfit is jeans and a tee/sweater (depending on the weather)
– I actually enjoy wearing big colorful necklaces
– I don’t like wearing patterns on top (Edit: Just realized I said this in a post where I’m wearing a patterned top. To clarify, I meant large, busy, overwhelming patterns. Plaid is none of those things to me.)
– I’m not comfortable in a structured collared shirt, I prefer a more relaxed or silk-type fabric
– My dresses need to have some sort of shape or waist
– I prefer to have one “statement piece” and build the rest of my outfit around that

That being said, I can’t wait to explore even more in 2014! I’ve already got my 2014 budget planned out (more details about that in an early January post) and I’m excited for what’s to come!

Thanks for reading and see you in 2014!

  1. So cute! Gingham is one of my favorites and I love it paired with your plum scarf and those booties! Thanks for sharing with Three-fer Thursday 🙂
