October means pumpkin picking, hayrides, hot apple cider (fine, PSLs too), and warm flannel. But it also means that it’s Breast Cancer Awareness month-an important cause to people everywhere. I talked a little bit about aerie’s partnership with Bright Pink last year. But I wanted to take some time again to tell you a little more about it and how you can help support Bright Pink and raise awareness.

Bright Pink is the only national non-profit organization focusing on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. This year is the 5th year that aerie has partnered with Bright Pink and they’ll be offering the Bright Pink Charley Bra in stores again! The best part? 100% of the sales from the Charley Bra will benefit Bright Pink. Additionally, aerie is inviting shoppers to donate to Bright Pink by rounding up their in-store purchase totals and offering a free gift of an exclusive lip gloss with a donation of $5 or more.

One of the things that I’ve loved about this partnership is that it’s not just about the sales of the bra. As Bright Pink Founder and CEO, Lindsay Avner said, “the partnership is grounded in a genuine desire to reach young women and inspire them to live proactively in relation to their health.” Through this campaign, Show Your Support 2014, aerie and Bright Pink are able to educate woman on how to become proactive about their health and bust common breast cancer myths.
Even if you don’t have the money, you can still commit to being Bright Pink by signing up for Bright Pink’s Breast Health Reminders, a once-a-month text message breast-check reminder as well as participate in a quiz to test their knowledge surrounding breast and ovarian cancer risks. You can also use the hashtag #AerieSupports to show your support online.

Here are some of my favorite products for the collection, including the shirt I’m wearing (note: only sales from the Charley Bra support Bright Pink, but you can still show your support through the other products!)
