Do Something Good

Every year when the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book comes out, I like to look through the offerings. Not because I could ever afford any of them, but mostly just to see how outrageous some of them are. (Because no, I can not afford yours & mine Rolls-Royces in blue for the low price of $439,625.)
But this year, I was pleasantly surprised to see another article come up about the Christmas Book. At the kickoff party this year were sisters Katherine and Isabelle, 11 and 14, who were selling their handmade origami ornaments as one of the fantasy gifts this year!
The two sisters started their nonprofit Paper for Water six years ago as just a fun arts and crafts project to raise money for hospitals and other causes.  It’s quickly grown though and now helps to fund clean water projects around the world. This year they’re selling their selling single ornaments for $50 and a collection of 250 more intricately designed ornaments for $50,000. That alone will be enough to pay for two water wells.
Its amazing to see the impact that these two girls have made at such a young age and the recognition that they’re getting at these large events! Head over to the article to learn more about Paper for Water and their involvement in the Christmas Book this year!
