My 2014 Budget

In 2013, I felt like I was struggling with clothes, but in the best possible way. As my mom said, in the past, I use to just buy, but now I wait, stalk [the clothes], and buy what I want for a less expensive price. It’s worked out better, but it’s still a challenge to figure out what I actually like, what looks good, and what I should spend my money on.
For my 2014 budget, I decided to follow in Jess‘s footsteps and try a year long budget. I’m going to set aside $3,000 to spend on clothing for the entire year. I’ll still keep track of what I spend each month, but this will take off the pressure of trying to be below a certain amount each month and just let it flow. If I’m out of money by December, that’s my own fault, no new clothes then!
So what else will I try to do this year to help my budget?
1. Continue to use Ebates. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, ebates is awesome. My mom didn’t believe me when I said I was making cash back for shopping online until she saw me cash my first check. If you haven’t signed up for Ebates yet, I really suggest that you do.
2. Clean out my closet. This is fairly self explanatory, but it’s often an issue for me. I’m one of those people that won’t wear something for two years and then pull it out again and it’ll go back into regular clothing cycle. Also, when I do clean out my closet, I make a pile/bag of clothes to donate and then take forever to donate them. I definitely need to work on making more trips to drop off my donated clothes.
3. Post more clothes to sell on Poshmark. I have a poshmark account, but I don’t really use it that much. I have plenty of clothes I want to post on there and I need to just do it. If I’m not going to post
4. Organize my closet. It’s easier to find things when I can actually find them. This will also hopefully stop me from unintentionally buying duplicates of items. It doesn’t happen often, but I’m disappointed in myself when it does.
5. Shop my closet more. I do this a good amount with rediscovering old clothes, but I would really like to do it more than just buying new things instead.
Here’s what I’m looking currently craving for the month of January!
