Well I’ve just had the slowest reading month I’ve had in a while. I kept picking up books and putting them back down, I couldn’t get into anything! There were so many books I wanted to read, but at the same time, all I wanted to read were happy romance novels. I think I found a nice compromise this month?
March 2021 Reading List
A Sweet Mess by Jayci Lee
This book was such a sugary sweet romance novel. Okay, that might have been a little punny since the main characters are literally sitting on a Bundt cake on the cover. But I loved how this book tied in all of my favorite things: cooking shows, baking, and romance. Heads up though, my romance book club (yes, I’m in one) was pretty divided over this book: everyone either loved it or hated it.
The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans
Phew, this book is not the book to read if you want something lighthearted. These stories are heavy and will leave you thinking for a while. However, the stories in this collection are so good, you need to read them at some point. Put this book on your must read pile and save for a day when you’re ready.
The Dating Plan by Sara Desai
Last month I mentioned how disappointed I was in the world for never telling me about Sara Desai. Well, readers, I haven’t quite forgiven you yet, but I’ll consider it if you rush to read the follow up novel, The Dating Plan ASAP. This novel was so good and I loved reading about Daisy and how she accidentally finds herself engaged.
On the Way to the Wedding by Julia Quinn
The last Bridgerton novel! I kept putting off reading this and then I decided I was only punishing myself. The 8th novel tells Gregory’s story of how he finally finds his bride. It’s just as good as the seven before and filled with plenty of shenanigans.
How to Fail at Flirting by Denise Williams
I have mixed feelings about this novel. I loved the main character and this was a really good story. However, for some reason I was having problems getting myself to pick the book back up. I have no clue why, I just wasn’t dying to jump back in every time I put it down.
The Camelot Betrayal by Kiersten White
This was another book that I enjoyed, but it dragged a little at the beginning. I had a hard time going into it, but once it picked up, then I found myself sucked back it. This novel is a sequel though, so if you don’t read Camelot Rising first, you will be very confused.
