July Budget, budgeting, shopping, discounts, sales

6. J. Crew Lace-stripe skirt (yellow): $17.49

Earned: $9.45 from clothing sales

Total Spent: $261.93
Total Remaining in 2014 Budget: $1088.60

Things I did not anticipate this month:

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (I had never shopped it before, so I didn’t really plan for it)
The massive amount of free time and boredom that I would have while sitting in front of a computer (more on this in a future post)
Despite my lack of planning for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I actually didn’t do too badly this month. I thought it was going to make a huge dent in my spending, but (as you might have seen from last week’s post), I really ended up not keeping that much. However, I did end up crossing three things off of my “In Search of” List this month: a gingham shirt in navy, black fall boots, and a light weight white cami. Finally, I’ve also decided to remove workout attire from my clothing budget. I went back and forth on this, but I really felt that how I view workout wear personally, it did not make sense to keep it in my budget.

  1. Love this budget and your picks are perfect! They are classic and I'm certain you'll get lots of use out of them all!

Thanks! I'm trying to spend more on classic items and less on trendy things
