I truly never thought I would be writing about slips or how to style a slip jumpsuit, but here we are. I didn’t even know slip jumpsuits are even a thing. Whenever Everlane showed me this jumpsuit though, I knew I wanted it. I LOVE the idea of wearing jumpsuits to fancy events instead of dresses. It’s such a fun idea and way more comfortable than you would expect.

But the fancy route felt too easy with this jumpsuit. I could just throw on a pair of heels, add a clutch, and be good to go. But let’s be real here, IS ANYONE GOING TO A FANCY EVENT THIS YEAR? Heck no.

Also, I’ve noticed that lately with every piece I’ve purchased or received, I try to think about how I can style it for every day life. Would it make sense for working from home? Could I just wear it on the weekends? Does this even make sense for my life right now?

So I thought it would make more sense to take a more casual route when styling this jumpsuit. But how do you do that?

How to Style a Slip Jumpsuit: The Casual Way

First, add a jean jacket

A jean jacket is the easiest way to dress down anything. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, your jean jacket will make it more casual. I decided to wear my white jean jacket for this outfit though to add a little more contrast.

For your shoes, go with a flat or a sandal

Don’t pair it with a heel though! Flat sandals will give you a more relaxed vibe. I decided to go with flats instead, but this knit pair isn’t dressy, so it worked. I also loved adding these flats because they added the pop of color this entire outfit needed.

Pick your accessories wisely

Finally, I picked a pursed that I loved, but I wouldn’t carry to a wedding. For jewelry, I went with a fun pair of clay earrings that added a little more color to the entire outfit. Both were fun and didn’t overpower the entire look.

Are you a jumpsuit person? What do you think of a more casual look?
