My Anniversary Dinner Dress (Or “What Would Have Been…”)

I’d say I’m all dressed up with no where to go, but really it’s more like I have a closet full of clothes and no where to wear them. DC has started a slow reopening phase, but since I’ve been playing things on the safe side, my boyfriend and I chose to celebrate our anniversary by staying inside and ordering in our favorite food.

We chose to not dress up (who can resist a night in comfy clothes), but if we had, I probably would have gone with this new addition to my closet.

The Slip Dress

I don’t remember the last time I actively chose a slip dress. Or even a spaghetti strap dress? I get nervous about how I look in them, so I’d rather not even bother.

Why did I try this one then?

First, the fabric. While this type of dress has been in style lately, most of the options have been satin. An incredibly unforgiving fabric. No thank you. The GoWeave fabric however is thicker (but still comfortable in the summer), hides the things you want it to, and just over all sits better.

Second, I love the cross-back style. It give the dress more of a halter style, which I definitely prefer. I honestly just think it’s looks better on me.

Is it versatile?

I was a little concerned about that, but yes! This dress doesn’t dip low in front, so with a cardigan it’s perfect for work. Obviously, it’s also great for a night out. I bet it’s even great with a jean jacket.

Should I do a remix post with this dress? The more I type, the more I’m leaning towards yes. It’s also convincing me to buy a better mirror for my apartment (which I’m in desperate need of anyways).

Would I recommend it?

I would definitely say yes! Now if your short like me, you may need to get it tailored (I’m seriously considering it), but if you’re 5’2 or taller, you’ll be fine!
