Do Something Good

Does anyone else remember that Pizza Hut reading program from the 90s? Well it’s back! And truthfully, I think it’s better than before. Pizza Hut has partnered with First Book to help with Pizza Hut: The Literacy Project. This campaign will help kids get access to reading, give teachers greater resources, and inspire a lifelong love of reading.

How can you get involved? The easiest way is to donate. Just $3 can buy a new book for child. You can also sign up to receive email updates about the program.

On another unrelated to pizza and books note (and related to the firestorm that is everyone’s social media feeds), this article has been really helpful for me, how to continue to resist without losing your mind. Remember, it’s okay to walk away from social media for a bit. That being said, here are some ways to make your voice hear.

  1. Book It! Love it! And even better to expand the program in a way that helps more kids get more books. I’m kind of excited for Hendrik to do Book It 😉 And yes, I need ways to not lose my mind right now. For real.

  2. I have such fond memories of Book It! I am so glad they are bringing it back, its a great way to encourage kids to read.
