A Beauty Minute with Bioré

Note: Today’s post is sponsored by Bioré, but as always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Something Good!

At the beginning of every month, I share a little bit about what’s going on behind the scenes of Something Good. It’s a little peek at content that might not otherwise make it on the blog. Sometimes because it doesn’t fit with what I typically talk about or it just doesn’t fit in general. Well, one of the things that I haven’t really posted about lately, has been my mini dive into skincare. I haven’t talked about it because #notabeautyblogger, but because of some stress breakouts, it’s been on my mind.

One of the things I absolutely love trying is a good mask. Eye masks, masks while I’m on a plane (no joke), masks to refresh my skin, I love them. So if a brand asks me to try a mask, I’m in. Naturally, (if you didn’t guess where this was going) when Bioré reached out and asked me to try out their Bioré Self Heating One Minute Mask and Bioré Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips, I was in.

Quick tangent: does anyone else still think it’s kind of funny that charcoal has become the big thing in the beauty world? Not knocking all of the amazing things it can do, but go figure.

Okay, back to the main topic. The first thing I wanted to try were the Bioré Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips. I’m a fan of anything that’s quick, easy clean up, and I can wear while doing other things. The really cool thing about these charcoal pore strips work like a magnet, lifting out deep-down grime, oil and blackheads from even your most clogged pores. And that’s not a lie….I could actually see it when I took the strip off. TMI? Nah, you needed to know that. I also read that if you start using the regularly, they can actually diminish the appearance of pores (challenge accepted?). The only thing I couldn’t do while I was wearing these? Smile. I’m serious. That’s why I’m not smiling in half of these pictures. I tried, but they all looked like weird smirks!

Their other product that I’m excited about is the Bioré Self Heating One Minute Mask. This mask was created with a unique formula heats on contact with water to relax and open pores to attack deep down clogs. It actually heats up once you apply it to your face to help draw out all of the dirt and toxins. Then after a minute, you rinse it off and you’re good to go! It was actually crazy how fast it heated up. Plus, my skin felt AMAZING immediately after I washed it off.

If you’re interested in trying it out for yourself, both of them are available for less than $6 each on Target or Amazon.com. Let me know if you try either out, I’d love to hear what you think!
