I’ve actually been debating not putting up this post. Why? Well, everyone seems kind of sick of the Nordstrom Sale, everyone seems to be posting the same items, and truthfully….I got a little bored while I was trying on some of these things.
But, I like sharing my try-on’s with you guys, so here we are! I think this is the only post I’m going to do for the sale. If I have any other items that show up that are REALLY good, I’ll add them to this post. I’m not going to do a second post because that seems unnecessary. Okay, here we go with the 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Reviews.
2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Reviews
Vince Camuto Windowpane Plaid Faux Wrap Top, XX-Small,Pearl Ivory
This was the first thing that I tried on and thank god it was a winner. It wasn’t made out of that flimsy see through material (that you don’t actually want to wear during the summer). Instead, it was a little lighter than a flannel top and much nicer than you would expect from a flannel top. The cross over makes it much nicer and I could easily see wearing it to work.
Right now it’s sold out, but keep checking in (use Shoptagr) because I feel like a few of them will come back in stock!
Verdict: Keep
Chelsea28 Sport Tank, X-Small, Navy Night-Black Combo
Okay, this was the lighter, polyester top that I was talking about. The XS was true to size and I love the black/navy combo. The pink/navy combo wasn’t available in my size, but it is now, so I just ordered it.
This is a top that you can definitely wear right now since it’s light enough for summer wear and will keep you cool during the heat.
Verdict: Keep
Caslon® Printed Sleeveless Top, X-Small, Green Ditsy Folk Print
I thought this top would be great. It looked great online. But in person it looks a little too….folksy? The material has more weight to it than I expected. The ruched top makes it fit a little easier, but I think it also makes it look a little more prairie-ish. I was hoping that it would look better tucked in, but, um, nope.
Verdict: No. Going to keep hunting for other forest green tops
Caslon® Printed Sleeveless Top, X-Small, Yellow Daisy
You know how sometimes a top looks great in one color and terrible in another? I thought that might be the case with this top. Yeah, it wasn’t.
Verdict: Return!
Madewell Faux Wrap Pullover Sweater, X-Small, Navy
I can’t decide how I feel about this top. It’s super soft and it fits pretty well. But I can’t decide if it’s a little too loose on the sides. I’m also nervous about whether or not it’ll stretch out. But it’s so soft.
Verdict: I don’t know yet.
Something Navy Flecked Crewneck Sweater, XX-Small, Beige Oatmeal
There’s something wrong with a sweater when you order an xx-small and it’s huge. And this is not me trying to brag about being tiny. Because my friend, I know I’m short and petite, but um, I’m not that small. I like oversized sweaters, but this sweater is far too oversize. It’s also not the softest sweater in the world.
Verdict: Over it, return.
Chelsea28 V-Neck Sweater, XX-Small, Brown Shitake Heather
Another oversized sweater. Or I’m too short. Or both. This sweater is super soft though, so if you’re taller than me BUY IT.
Verdict: Return
BP. Lightweight Sweater, XX-Small, Beige Oatmeal Light Heather
Finally! A soft sweater that fits! This sweater is a little shorter than the others, but it’s not a cropped sweater at all. It has a dropped sleeve, which I love. I also love the wide collar which is a fun touch. This beige sweater is a little see through (it’s a looser knit), but I would also be wearing it with a tee underneath during the winter.
Verdict: Keep! (It’s also only $25!)
BP. Lightweight Sweater, XX-Small, Black
The same sweater as above, but in black! I love it, the end.
Verdict: Keep
BB Dakota Up to Speed Faux Leather Moto Jacket, Small, Parchment
Right out of the bag I was nervous about this jacket. Why? It smelled funny. I should have known it was going to be down hill from there. The big flaps just didn’t fold down correctly. I thought zipping it might fix the issue, but it somehow made it worse?
Also, I hate this weird trend of skinny arms for jackets. Why can’t you make room for me to wear sweaters?! This jacket had smaller sleeves and then big shoulders. It just makes no sense.
Verdict: Return
Caslon® Drape Collar Knit Blazer, XX-Small P Petite, Navy Peacoat
After how much I loved the blazer I bought last year, I thought it was definitely time to try another Caslon blazer. Honestly, I was unimpressed. The fit was excellent, but the fabric was so thin. Also, they did a seam on the outside on the back of the jacket which just looks so unfinished. I wanted this blazer to wear to work and with how this blazer was sewn, I just can’t.
Verdict: Return
ASTR the Label Lace Midi Dress, Small, Red & Hunter Green
Oh this dress. The dress that every blogger seems to get. I’ve been so curious about it, so I decided to see if it would be good for some fall weddings I have coming up. First, if you want this dress, ORDER A SIZE UP. Even in a small, I was wondering if the top was a little too tight. Second, I can’t decide if this dress was really made for darker colors. Or maybe my legs are too pale for a dark colored dress? Personally, I liked the green one, but my boyfriend thought it looked like I had covered myself in moss.
Verdict: I don’t know. Maybe return
Commando Faux Leather Ankle Leggings, Small, Black
I LOVE these leggings. I got the espresso version of them last fall, but since they were a brownish colors, I never wore them. So when I saw that the black one was on sale this year, I returned the unworn brown ones immediately (yesss Nordstrom return policies).
These leather leggings are amazing. They suck everything in and make your legs look so good. There’s also an extra panel at the top to help suck everything in.
Verdict: Keep. Is it fall so I can wear them yet?
Zella Live In High Waist Pocket 7/8 Leggings, Small, Black
I’ve never tried Zella before, but after trying on these leggings, I LOVE them! They’re super comfortable and not see through (thank god). The 7/8 sounds funny, but it’s also a great length for me because leggings have a tendency to be too long on me. These fix that. As an added bonus, there’s a pocket on the side that can hold my phone! So many wins with these leggings.
Verdict: Keep
Zella Splits Ribbed Tank, X-Small, Pink Rosette
For our last piece, a cute little workout tank. This tank is really comfortable and loose. There honestly isn’t anything super special about it. It’s just comfortable and a good workout tank. I was going to get the white one, but I’m glad I didn’t now because I think the white one would have looked a little cheap.
Verdict: keep
