Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41

I think this is the first shopping reviews where I’ve kept more than I’ve returned! I’ve also fallen in love with some of the pieces at Abercrombie and Fitch right now. I have a feeling you’re going to be seeing quite a few more of these on the blog in the future.

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41 | Something Good, Truly Madly Deeply Dusty Road Peplum Tee Dress_Something Good

Truly Madly Deeply Dusty Road Peplum Tee Dress, XS

Can you tell I’m in love with this tee? I’ve already picked it up in green and I’m debating the white. I want to warn anyone who wants to pick it up, it does feel like the back portion of the tee has a lot of extra fabric. You can’t notice it from the front though, so I don’t really mind. Also, I know it’s called a “tee dress” but I will be wearing this as a tee, minus the dress.

Verdict: Keep!

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41 | Something Good, Everlane Silk Short-Sleeve Dress - Navy_Something Good

Everlane Silk Short-Sleeve Dress – Navy, XS

I’ve been in love with this dress after I’ve seen all of the ways that Caroline from Unfancy styled it. I was really hoping to get it in black, but sadly there’s no chance of that happening any time soon. But I’m pretty excited about the navy color. It means I can wear this through the summer and then into the fall and winter. It’s only left in a few sizes though, so pick it up fast!

Verdict: Keep

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41 | Something Good, J.Crew Side-Tie T-Shirt_Something Good

J.Crew Side-Tie T-Shirt, XS

Isn’t this shirt so stinking cute?! I was nervous about a few things for this shirt: low quality, very cotton-y, flimsy side tie, you see where I’m going. But nope, nope, and nope! The shirt was made out of a much softer, more elastic material, the ribbon had structure, and there were no cap sleeves to be found.

Verdict: Keep

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41 | Something Good, Lush Split Neck Shift Dress_Something Good

Lush Split Neck Shift Dress, XS

So, I actually returned this top and looking at the pictures now, I regret it. I was nervous that the front split went to low, but that’s something I could easily fix with some thread in about two minutes. I also thought it went a little too low in the back, but maybe I can get that hemmed. I need to think it over a little more, but if you’re taller than me (I’m 5 ft), it’ll probably fit you perfectly.

Verdict: Returned, but may reorder

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41 | Something Good, Socialite Stripe Tee_Something Good

Socialite Stripe Tee, XS

I have a stripes obsession, this top was on super sale ($14), and it’s really soft. I mostly wanted another good layering/running errands tee and this fit the bill perfectly. The sleeves are very long though (I pushed them up in the picture) and the fabric is a little sheer.

Verdict: keep
Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41 | Something Good, Vince Camuto Fit & Flare Sweater Dress_Something Good

Vince Camuto Fit & Flare Sweater Dress, XS

I wanted to like this dress. No, I wanted to love this dress. It just wasn’t going to happen though. It felt much longer when I tried it on and the material just felt so heavy on me. I kept picturing myself wearing it for work and I just couldn’t. At $90, I wasn’t going to keep this if I had any hesitations.

Verdict: Return

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41 | Something Good, Abercrombie and Fitch Midi Shirtdress_Something Good

Abercrombie and Fitch Midi Shirtdress, XS Regular

I’m torn on this one. So torn. The upper half fits perfectly and it’s fitted but not too tight. But as you can see, the midi length is just a bit too long (the petite sizing was sold out). My options are to either return it or bring it to a tailor and let him work his magic shortening it. I know I would wear it to work and for fun, which is why I’m leaning towards letting the tailor fix it.

Verdict: Undecided

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 41 | Something Good, Abercrombie and Fitch Textured Knit Cardigan_Something Good

Abercrombie and Fitch Textured Knit Cardigan, XS

When I went on the hunt for a camel sweater, I thought it was going to take longer. Every one I found either looked like terrible quality, the wrong shade of camel, or it was sold out in my size. This Abercrombie and Fitch one ended up working out pretty well. The fabric was a little thicker than I expected and the stitching held together nicely. I thought it would make the fabric look kind of cheap, but it did the opposite. I do want to note though that the sleeves are long.

Verdict: Keep
