Blog Better: Spring Cleaning

Since I talked about cleaning up my home last week, I thought I might talk about the other clean ups on my mind, mainly, my blog. While I do a little spring cleaning on here, I thought I would share some of the things that I’m doing to clean up the blog.

Update the Home Page
My blog’s last redesign was almost two years ago, and while I’m not ready to do a full redesign, there are a few things I want to do to fix up the home page. Don’t worry, nothing minor, just making sure that everything is clean and easy to find.
Take a Look at Old Posts and Fix that SEO
I still can’t believe that my first post was almost three years ago! It’s actually kind of fun to go back and see how the blog has grown and changed over time. That being said, I didn’t know much about SEO or alt tags, so it’s time to go back and fix some of that. Also, any broken links need to be fixed!
Social Media Clean Up
It’s time to switch up those profile pictures and go into spring mode! Also, I’ve been trying out some different tools to help with social media and I think I’ve figured out some of my favorites. I’ve started using Buffer for scheduling tweets at the optimal time and Tailwind for Pinterest.

Make a Posting Plan
I’ve been using an awesome planner from Acorn to plan out my posts, but now I need a plan for when I’m going to actually put together those posts. I’ve mentioned it multiple times on here, but between all of the jobs, I really need to pay attention to how I manage my time! I’ve started trying to reserve some time on Saturday (and sometimes Sunday) to put together my posts for the week so I don’t have to work on it after work, but I really need to get better about it. I think that planning ahead more will hopefully help that.
So do you have any plans to spring clean your blog? Any tools that you think I should check out?
