Gifts that Give Back: Alex and Ani

In the spirit of the holidays, I’ve decided to take the months of November and December off from Wednesday Wishlist and instead talk about different gifts that you can give during the holidays. This won’t be your normal gift guide. No, instead I’m going to sharing gifts that you can get for people that will actually give back and help others.

I actually hadn’t planned on talking about Alex and Ani for the first post in this series. I was actually contacted by their representative to talk about their new Depths of the Wild collection (which I’ll get to in a minute), but when I was looking around their site, I discovered that Alex and Ani also have a rich history of giving that I wanted to also share.

Based on the philosophy that all of their pieces are made with American made products, Alex and Ani have created a beautiful collection of jewelry. They also allow customers to participate in their commitment to philanthropy by selling pieces that allow them to give back to those in need, also called their Charity by Design program. You can choose pieces based on the cause you wish to support or choose the pieces you love and then see what causes they support. Through Charity by Design, they’re able to give back to other organizations that they believe improve others lives, such as Best Buddies, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Stand Up to Cancer, and National Autism Association.

Though it’s not part of the direct giving program, the Depths of the Wild collection contains some amazing pieces of jewelry and some bracelets that I absolutely adore. I’m typically not a bracelet person but this Alex and Ani collection may have just converted me to one.

If your interested in buying some jewelry for your mother, sister, or any of your friends, I would definitely suggest checking out Alex and Ani.
