The Twill Shorts

I don’t mean to brag (okay, lies, I totally do), but I think I may be winning at summer weekends right now. It’s funny that I’m staying this while doing work on a Sunday, but I think that that might be part of it.
(PS before we get into today’s post, I’m co-hosting the Currently Link Up on Wednesday! Join myself and Anne and let us know what you’re hearting, watching, exploring, creating, eating.)

Why do I think I’m winning? Because I think I have maybe finally found a good balance for myself on the weekends. One of my goals for this summer was to make sure that I was doing one fun thing each weekend. Meaning, I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t devoting my entire weekend to working at Pure Barre or on the blog (both of which I love though). It was important to me that I would have a day (or a thing) each weekend where I was doing something enjoyable where I wouldn’t think about work.
And oddly enough, it’s been working! This past weekend, I went up to NYC Friday evening and then bus’ed back Saturday night. I was able to spend Saturday with a friend visiting a museum, seeing a show, and just walking around. I was able to relax and didn’t have to worry about the work I need to get done (though she and I did relax Friday night by watching some tv and get work done). That nice break gave me the motivation to spend my Sunday running errands, getting blog work done, and getting ready for the week ahead. And that’s actually how I’ve been spending most of my weekends. It’s made me ready, if not excited to actually go back to work on Monday.
Have you found any good ways to keep balance in your life? Any tips you can share with me?
