My brain is still 100% in vacation mode.

(Before we jump into the post, I just wanted to add that these pictures are from the third day of The Blog Societies Conference in Charleston and this dress is crazy comfortable.)

You might have seen on snapchat or instagram that I was in Alaska last week and it was really the most amazing trip. We were in Juneau for our entire trip and it was a week of exploring, whale watching, and eating the most delicious food. I’m planning on putting together a big post about the entire trip, but I don’t know when that will go up (hopefully soon though…I should really know these things).
One of my favorite parts about the trip though was that I got everything for my blog and work done before I left. That meant I could turn off email notifications, ignore twitter and facebook, and basically forget about work for a week. (I did do a little instagram and snapchat but I took a step back and just posted whenever I felt like it.
I was a little nervous about it going “off the grid” (ish) for a week, but it was the best decision I could have made. I don’t think that I really realized how much time I spend thinking about work and what I need to get done. It was amazing to just turn everything off and just relax. I came back from the trip a little excited to get some blog things done, but sad that my time to relax is over. It’s made me realize that I need to find more time to turn my brain off AND not think about work. I don’t really know how I’m going to do that once I’m back in DC, but I now know how necessary it is and that I need to find a way to do it. Any tips are more than welcome.
So what did I miss while I was gone?! What new things are going on in your life?
