Sunday Book Club: Tell Me Three Things and Finding Audrey

Hi all! I have two books that I wanted to share with you today for Sunday Book Club. These books don’t have any real relation to each other, other than the fact that they’re both YA and I read them both recently. However, I really enjoyed both of them and wanted to share them with you.
 Tell Me Three Things
Tell Me Three Things was passed along to me by a friend in publishing and I’m so glad she shared it with me. It was on my to-read list, but had gotten buried under my current library stack, so who knows if it would have ever come to the top again.

Tell Me Three Things centered around Jessie’s life with her dad deciding to pick up their lives and relocate them to LA from Chicago because, surprise, he came home from a retreat and is now married. Jessie now had to figure out how to adjust to her new, rich and stuck up LA school. But it becomes a little easier when a mysterious classmate who calls themselves Somebody Nobody starts messaging her and helps her to navigate the school.

What I loved about this book is that while I was able to guess who Somebody Nobody was, I didn’t care. I loved getting to watch Jessie navigate her way and try to figure out her new life. The story wasn’t too out there and the characters felt realistic and relate-able
 Finding Audrey

Finding Audrey is about a girl who deals with some crippling anxiety issues after an incident at school (which we don’t really find out about). She’s been trying to work through her anxiety, but it’s not really going well until she meets Linus, her brothers friend who wants to help. This was Sophie Kinsella’s first YA book and I was pretty impressed. The one thing I couldn’t decide about was her handling of Audrey’s depression and anxiety. I couldn’t decide if it was dealt with too lightly and I wanted more or if I liked the fact that the book wasn’t as dark as it could have been. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this read and would encourage you to pick it up.

I’m so happy that I got to share these two books with you and I hope you’ll pick up one of them. Let me know if you do and what your thoughts are!

Also, I’ve been thinking about my books section and I want to expand it, but I think I need your help! I love reading and sharing what I’m reading, but do you want more book recommendations? Book lists? I loved my audiobooks and what to read when traveling from last winter, should I do more of those? I’m all ears!
