Blogger Style Two Ways: The Striped Navy Boatneck Top

When it comes to fashion (and random other topics), my boyfriend likes to get stuck on some of the most pointless rules. “You can only wear black to a funeral” or “no white after Labor Day.” I love the boy, but it’s become a new fun game of mine to continuously break these rules and then gleefully point out to him when I’m breaking these rules. (Honestly, I think the fact that I can tease him over something like this is a sign of true love, but that’s just me.)

Am I going somewhere with this? Yes.

The Striped Navy Boatneck Top

J.Crew Navy Top (Similar, Similar with lots of colors and low prices)
Joe’s Jeans (Similar, Similar)
J.Crew Sweater Blazer (Old, Similar, Similar)
Target Cut Out Booties (Similar with a slight heel, Similar, Expensive but good last minute option if everything is sold out)

Remixing the Striped Navy Boatneck Top

Anne and I have been waiting for literal months to remix our striped navy boatneck tops. MONTHS. So when it finally came time to remix this top, I couldn’t decide what to do. Default to jeans? A skirt? This isn’t my first time around a striped boatneck. I’m a full believer that this is a staple piece in any wardrobe. Although I’ve worn it so many ways, I just wasn’t sure what to do this time. (By the way, if you don’t own one, get your life together and buy one now!)

Then it hit me.

I needed to break all the rules that I don’t actually believe in or follow anymore and do white after Labor Day. Duh. A striped navy boatneck top goes perfect with white jeans. So why not pair it with jeans? And then top it off with a super Fall-ish navy sweater blazer and cognac shoes?

Done and done. No fuss, no muss. (Is muss even a word by the way? Did I even get that phrase correct?)

I’m super excited to see how Anne styled her top. So head over to her blog to see what she did!
