Shopping Reviews Vol. 7

I’ve been a little better about going online shopping lately (my self-control during the Fourth of July sales was amazing), but I still have a few pieces to share with you!
Loft Leafy Halter Midi Dress, loft dress, pink midi, midi dress
I wasn’t planning on trying on this dress. In fact, I planned on looking for a different midi dress, but I had time to kill and it was just staring at me in my size! The main reason I was hesitant about this dress is because normally pale pink washes me out. Once I tried it on though? I was sold. It fit perfectly, I loved the longer length, and the color magically worked.
Verdict: Bought it!

Loft Boho Halter Top, loft halter, jogger skirt, loft skirt
This top had been sitting in my cart, so when it dropped in price, I decided it was time to try it on. Sadly, this one didn’t live up to my expectations. the cut was much boxier than I expected, so it didn’t work as well on my frame. The upside to the top though is that the fabric is very light and with the cutouts, it’s perfect for when the weather gets hot.
Verdict: Didn’t buy.

I grabbed this because I wanted to get pictures of the halter but I clearly needed to wear something on bottom. I wasn’t planning on buying it, but I figured since I was wearing it, I should review it. I liked the cut of the jogger skirt, but it was a little tight on around my hips. The viscose fabric didn’t allow for much stretch, so I would have to go up a size if I wanted to get it and have that looser fit.
Verdict: Didn’t buy.
Loft T-Back Trapeze Dress, loft swing dress, swing dress, trapeze dress
I was so excited about this dress. I’ve love swing dresses right now and dark green is one of my favorite colors to wear. trying on this dress though, I was a little iffy about it. The cut from the front is perfect and the keyhole cutout in the front adds some cute flair. The part that I’m iffy about however is the excess fabric in the back. With the T-Back there was a lot of extra fabric that made the dress a little more formal than I expected.
Verdict: Waiting for the price to go down.
CaslonĀ® Clean Front Shorts, spanx denim cropped slim jeans, boyfriend jeans, nordstrom
On the Left: CaslonĀ® Clean Front Shorts (Size 0)
The length was perfect, but the shorts were a little too tight. Also, while I liked the print, the red in the shorts was a little more orange than I wanted.
Verdict: Return
On the Right: Spanx Denim Cropped Slim Jeans (Size 0)
And the hunt for boyfriend jeans continues. If you couldn’t tell from the pictures, these pants were just a little too big.
Verdict: Return
(Worn with this top)
Socialite Stripe Tank Dress, stripe swing dress, swing dress, old navy swing dress
Left: Socialite Stripe Tank Dress (Size XS)
As I’ve mentioned approximately 40923092834 times, I really like swing dresses right now. I decided it was time to try out patterns, so I took a stab at my favorite patterns: stripes! The first one up was a scoop neck from Nordstrom. The length worked well, but it felt more like an oversized dress than a good swing dress.
Verdict: Return
Right: Old Navy Swing Dress (Size XSP)
I already knew that this cut worked well (see this post), so I figured I would give the stripes a try. Needless to say, I loved it and it worked well. Also, at $18, I really couldn’t say no.
Verdict: Keep
EVERLY Textured Skater Dress, white dress, nordstrom, nordstrom dress
I loved this dress when I saw it online! White dresses have been really big this summer and I was excited to try a dress with sleeves. However, the sleeve was puffed and that’s an automatic no go for me. If you’re considering this dress though, the length was perfect (and appropriate for work) and the fabric was extra comfortable and soft.

Verdict: Return, but recommend.
