Shopping Reviews, Vol. 6

Another shopping review post! This time, I actually went into a store. Crazy, I know, but I had some spare time after work and was curious about a few pieces (and not in the mood to pile up my cart for free shipping)
loft, gingham dress, loft gingham
I kept seeing this dress online and I love it, but trying it on just reminded me how much I prefer the Loft petite line. The fabric was very comfortable and light, plus the dress had pockets! The dress is already sold out in petite sizing, but I believe it’s still available in regular sizes.
Verdict: Pass and wait to see if it comes back in petite.

loft dress, chambray dress, eyelet dress, loft
I’ve been staring at this dress online for a while, but I’m glad I finally tried it on in person. The dress was a beautiful eyelet, but I wasn’t as in love with it in person.
Verdict: Pass
I grabbed this dress out of curiousity and then totally fell in love. The fabric was a softened chambray that felt light and airy. I ended up loving it so much that I bought it on the spot and was able to use my $25 to get the dress for $20!
Verdict: Totally bought.
j.crew factory tank dress, j.crew factory, dress
I was excited for a comfortable tank dress, but this sadly wasn’t it. I’m generally  a 0 or 0P at J.Crew Factory, but this dress was just sewn so oddly. The chest was too large and the hips were a little too tight.
Verdict: Return
j.crew factory, beach sweater, open knit sweater
Another piece I’d been watching for a while. I generally am a big fan of the drop sleeve, but in this case the wide strap on the sleeve turned me off.
Verdict: Pass
madewell dress, eyelet dress, madewell eyelet, swing dress, nordstrom, midi dress
I have this dress in white and I loved it so much I decided to get blue too. As soon as I tried it on in blue, I realized I jut didn’t love it as much as the white.
Verdict: Return
Love. Love. Love. If you haven’t noticed, I’m in love with swing dresses lately. This dress is 100% polyester so it was incredibly comfortable and I can’t wait to wear it this weekend.
Verdict: Definitely keep.
In person this printed ended up being a little to house on the prairie for me. Also, my height strikes again. On the model this dress appears to be knee length, but on me, midcalf which is not a good look for me. However, despite its flaws, fabric was my favorite part. I would say if you’re taller than me, get it just to see how comfortable the fabric is.
Verdict: Return
topshop, longline shirt, topshop paneled longline shirt, long sleeve, gray
One thing you may not know about me: I LOVE good long sleeve tee. While this top was a little long, tucked in, it was perfect. Plus it was so soft, I almost didn’t take it off. Then I remembered it was 10000 degrees outside.
Verdict: Keep
topshop, topshop tank, v tank
Topshop Strappy V-Neck Cami (Cobalt: Size 4, Coral: Size 2)
I already have this top in green and loved it, so I decided I needed a few more colors. The cobalt was perfect (I love wearing blue), but I wasn’t in love with the coral. Also, just a note, I was wearing this to work the other day and some water spilled on me and within a few minutes, the top was dried up. Basically this top is magic and I’ll be buying more colors.
Verdict: Keep the blue, return the coral.
