Shopping Reviews, Vol. 26

Erm, so Loft had a 50% off and free shipping sale, so I couldn’t resist ordering a few of the pieces that I’ve been eyeing. I have to say though, this my be my highest keep to returns ratio for an order that I’ve had all year!

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 26

Loft Petite Vine Halter Midi Dress (XSP)

Obsessed. That may be the best way to put how I feel about this dress. I actually got this same dress last year in pink so I had to try out the blue version. I love it just as much as the pink version. It’s true to size with light material that is perfect for summer. Plus, the tie string waist is very forgiving (aka you can let it out after a big dinner).
Verdict: Keep.

Loft Crossover Flat Sandals (6)

These sandals were actually the reason i started my order. I’ve wanted to pick up a pair of gold sandals, but I haven’t been able to figure out which one. As you may know, I hate any pieces of clothing or shoes that are too fussy, so that can rule out a lot of options. These ones slide on very easily and the strap wasn’t too fussy. Also, I really appreciate how flexible the straps are on loft shoes. With a hand full of brands, the strap will be too stiff when  you get it and it’ll be a pain in the butt to break them it, but I didn’t have a problem with these (though I’d like to note, I’m pretty sure that the stiff leather is actually an indication that it’s good quality and real leather, but I’m not actually sure). The only slightly annoying thing is my heel lifting out of the shoe when I walk, but I think I can get use to that.
Verdict: Keep

Loft Petite Striped Tweed Wrap Skirt (XSP)

This skirt was way way way too tight. What you actually can’t see in this picture is that I couldn’t zip it up because it ran so small! The fabric was super cute, but a little scratchy and a little thicker than I would want for a summer skirt.
Verdict: Return

Lou & Grey Striped Mediamix Midi Dress (XSP)

Um, so I just wanted to try on this dress. I love Lou & Grey pieces, but their petite line is limited and their regular line runs very large. By the time most pieces are down to a price I’m okay with paying, they’re so out. I saw this dress though and I was really intrigued by it, plus it was free shipping day, so I figured why not. So the top part of this dress is a fitted stretchier material, while the bottom is a gauzy loose fabric. This dress had two downsides to it. First, the part where the two dresses connected isn’t very fitted, but on overly hot days during the summer, that may be okay. Second, the dress was too long on me. I think I’m going to take it to the tailors though.
Verdict: Keep and alter
