Remember back during my March budget post when I talked about all the retail therapy I was doing? Well, it’s time for the first round of shopping reviews! For this post, it’s all about the Old Navy Spring Collection. Well, maybe it’s more summer collection? Especially since this post features a lot of sleeveless dresses that I won’t be wearing until the summer.

Old Navy Fit & Flare Jersey-Knit Maxi Dress, Forest Shade, XSP

You know those dresses that you just put on and you know instantly that you’re in love with them? This was one of those dresses. It feels like pajamas, but it looks like you actually tried really hard. Plus, since Old Navy does petite sizing really well, this dress fit perfectly, no alternations needed. This is one of those, run don’t walk to get this dress.

Verdict: Keep!

Old Navy Waist-Defined Braided-Strap Maxi Dress

Old Navy Waist-Defined Braided-Strap Maxi Sundress, Navy Floral, XSP

This is almost the same dress as above, but the printed pattern did me no favors. It was just too busy for me. The bottom half of it also just felt a little too full. I can’t figure out if the pattern made it look that way or if it actually was.

Verdict: Return

Old Navy Sleeveless V-Neck Maxi Shift Dress, Coral, XSP

This dress completely surprised me in two ways. First, I expected the material to be similar to the one above (a cotton-y material). But it was actually a rayon (which is like a fake silk). Second, I wasn’t really expecting it to work, I just wanted to try it on. But I actually loved the fit of it. It was just so relaxed and comfortable. Again, the fit was perfect. However, this coral was a little too bright for me.

Verdict: Return the coral.

Old Navy Sleeveless V-Neck Maxi Shift Dress, Matcha Green, XSP

This is the same dress as above, but just in a green color. Since I knew I loved the fit, I knew the green was definitely going to be a winner. And it was!

Verdict: Keep

Old Navy Ponte-Knit V-Neck Sheath Dress, Canopy, XS

I had such mixed feelings on this dress. It’s a great work dress and it fit really well. I also loved the color and how it worked in person. It also had pockets, which was a bonus, but you could see the pockets on the front of the dress (the seams were very visible). I went back and forth on this a lot, but ultimately, I couldn’t get over being able to see the pockets. But Old Navy has so many similar dresses, that there are plenty of options. Plus, I know that they wouldn’t be visible if I went back and got the black dress.

Verdict: Return

Old Navy Striped Tie-Belt Cap-Sleeve Shirt Dress, White Stripe, XSP

Oh boy. This was one of those dresses that looked great online and looked terrible in person. The fit was too big, the stripes were too wide, and it just overall look was misshaped. Plus, the fabric was a little too stiff. It was just an overall no go.

Verdict: Return

Old Navy Sleeveless Button-Front Linen-Blend Midi Dress, Creme De La Creme, XSP

Old Navy Sleeveless Button-Front Linen-Blend Midi Dress, Creme De La Creme, XSP

I love this dress! It fits so well on and I love the creme color. I think that the dress is going to look great with a jean jacket during the summer and I can already picture it with flats, heels, or sneakers. So do I love this dress because it’s basically a blank canvas? Yes. Is that a great reason to buy it? Yes. (Well, that and I also loved it as soon as I put it on.)

Verdict: Keep

Old Navy High-Waisted Sateen Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans, Honey, 2P

Old Navy High-Waisted Sateen Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans, Honey, 2P

I have mixed feelings on these. They felt great as soon as I put them on and they’re super stretchy. But they were a little tight and I also know that as much as I love the look of colored jeans, I won’t wear them as much as I want to.

Verdict: Return

Old Navy Mid-Rise Pull-On Wide-Leg Pants, Navy, 4P

Old Navy Mid-Rise Pull-On Wide-Leg Pants, Navy, 4P

Well, these were unexpectedly too big. The waist just stuck out in weird places and it was just uncomfortable. I could go down a size, but I just didn’t love them enough to try.

Verdict: Return

Old Navy Mid-Rise Pull-On Wide-Leg Pants, Black Jack, 4P

Old Navy Mid-Rise Pull-On Wide-Leg Pants, Black Jack, 4P

Same pants, different color. These oddly enough were a little too tight? Sizing is weird guys!

Verdict: Return.

Well that’s it for the Old Navy shopping! Stay tuned for a J.Crew post coming soon!
