I remember seeing someone posting something really sassy and judging on Instagram about people who were wearing jeans during quarantine. Well I started wearing jeans last week, and it’s been life changing. But let’s get into the update first.

Week Whatever of Quarantine, Vol. 2

Books, jeans, a printer, and a little bit of food poisoning! Aren’t you excited?

Life Changing Jeans

Yes, I’m saying life changing. When quarantine started, I was all about the sweatpants and comfortable soft pants. Now, I’m still about the soft pants, but last week, I made the decision to put jeans back on for the first time in weeks. Oh. My. God. I felt like a real person again. So I’ve been going back and forth now between wearing these Old Navy boyfriend jeans and my Madewell skinny jeans. I don’t wear jeans every day, but putting on jeans has definitely been a game changer. It’s also helped me feel more awake during the work day. So yes, life changing jeans are a thing for me right now.

A Touch of Food Poisoning

I’ll go through this one a bit quickly but about an hour or two after dinner the other night, I started to feel really sick. Luckily, it only ever amounted to not being more than clutching my stomach and not being able to really eat more than bagels and sprite for a day-ish. But ugh, it was not fun. Also, the weird thing about being sick is that I had felt like I had to specify to my boss that I was taking a sick morning, but, “NO, I DON’T have corona.”

The Funniest Birthday Present

Mid-Sunday morning, I received a call from the front desk of my apartment building that a heavy package had arrived and would I be able to come get it soon? I was completely confused because nothing I had ordered should have been really heavy, so I had no idea what it would be. My boyfriend couldn’t think of anything either.

When he brought it back up, he realized what it was. His parents had found two 20 lbs dumbbells and mailed them to me as an early birthday present! They knew I had been searching for them all over the internet and had just about given up. So when they found them, they knew it would be a great present. And it was! It was also a hilarious surprise present to receive. (My birthday isn’t until Saturday the 26th, so I wasn’t even thinking about it being a birthday present).

Updates from last week

My Printer!

I mentioned last week that my weird purchase of quarantine was getting a printer. Well not only has it arrived, but I finally set it up today! The first thing I printed? These coloring pages.

What I’m watching right now

I binged all of Too Hot To Handle on Netflix this past weekend. It’s so stupid. The concept is that they picked 10 of the hottest 20-somethings from all over the world, put them at this beach resort and told them they were all competing for a $100,000 prize. BUT every time they kissed or did anything sexual the prize money went down. It’s such a stupid show, but it was so terribly amazing that I couldn’t stop watching.

I’ve also been rewatching all of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, which is just amazing (nothing terrible about it).

Reading

Last weekend I finished Beach Read (you can still get Beach Read early on Book of the Month for $9.99 if you don’t want to wait until May 19th) and The Heir Affair (an ARC), both of which were excellent! I also read Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts which had a serious Westing Game vibe, so of course I need to recommend it.

Weird Purchase

This Tub o’ Towels on Amazon. My bathtub shower needs to be cleaned and if this wipe will do it without tearing like clorox wipes then praise everything! And if it doesn’t work, then I blame Grace Atwood for the recommendation.

Cooking

There hasn’t been much of a cooking/baking update. Except that I made banana pancakes on Saturday and another round of banana muffins (maybe?) will probably be coming my way soon. Or maybe I’ll make them into something else. Either way, it’ll bring the banana total to at least 5 or 6.

I’m also planning on making myself a birthday cake. Because why not? But also, feel free to send me some Milk Bar cakes and/or cookies.

How has your week been going?
