Just in time for some weekend shopping, I have my reviews of J.Crew Factory dresses! They’ve loaded up their site with a lot of dresses and I was overwhelmed with all of the choices. There were a handful more that I still wanted to look through, but here’s what I went with.

I think you guys have seen me try on this dress…I don’t know how many times now? Well I’ve finally found a winning size! Just a regular 0. Go figure. The waist hit a tiny bit lower, but with that came the longer hem that I wanted. This is going to be perfect for summer weddings. In fact, I’m wearing it to a rehearsal dinner this weekend!

Verdict: Finally keeping!

Okay, I swear this one is cut differently, hence it getting it’s own picture. If you look at the bottom, it’s cut with a slight hi-low hem. I don’t know if I got a weird one or if they just went with that for this color, but whatever. The length is finally longer. This color is also the version that’s perfect for fall weddings.

Verdict: Also, finally keeping. Huzzah!

J.Crew Factory Chambray Faux-Wrap Dress, 0

I had such high hopes for this dress and they were squashed so quickly. I love everything chambray, so when I saw this one, I was quick to add it to my cart. Once it was on though….let’s talk about the problems. First, it’s big on top. I tried to show this in the picture on the right, but the overall top was big. I could pull the shoulders up about an inch or two without straining the fabric. The fabric could also be pulled out 3 inches from my bust without a problem. Things even a padded bra couldn’t fit. On top of that, the tie sleeves (which I could probably fix), were just too tight and I constantly felt like pulling them down. I could try going down a size, but I don’t know if it’s worth it.

Verdict: Return

I thought this would have the same problems as the dress above and it semi-did. The upper half was still too big and I felt a little like drowning in this dress. The upside? There aren’t any tie sleeves on this dress, so my arms didn’t feel like they were suffocating. The fabric also felt a little stiffer. Is it worth it to try for a smaller size? Nah.

Verdict: Return.

J.Crew Factory V-Neck Lace Dress, Navy, 00

The pros of this dress: It fits true to size. The color is super cute and the lace is a cute touch. The down side: I just felt okay about it. I could keep it and wear it to work or to a wedding and it would totally work. I’m just not in love with it. Maybe I’m just not in love with it on me?

Verdict: Not for me, but one of you needs to get it and tell me about how much you love it!

dc woman blogger wearing J.Crew Factory Striped Poplin-Trimmed Dress

J.Crew Factory Striped Poplin-Trimmed Dress, XS

This just felt like a basic striped tee dress. Which is what it is. And I have enough of those. Maybe too many of those? The little poplin trim also made me feel more like I was wearing something I should be sleeping in. It was comfortable though and true to size, which is always a bonus. If you don’t have any shirtdresses, this is a good place to start.

Verdict: Return

dc woman blogger wearing AE Ne(x) Level Super High-Waisted Jegging

AE Ne(x) Level Super High-Waisted Jegging, 2 Short

Um, if I ever said I wasn’t a high-waist jeans person, I was wrong. I just hadn’t found the right pair yet. This pair from American Eagle is EVERYTHING. They’re so comfortable and easy to move in! I don’t feel constricted or any of the other annoying things that could come with high-waist pieces. I love American Eagle’s jeggings (I could write pages telling you why), so I don’t know why I ever though their high-waisted jeggings wouldn’t live up to that.

Verdict: Keeping and you need to get them too.

On another note…..

I’m in the process of doing a mini bedroom and closet makeover. I’m going to be doing a full blog reveal soon, but in the mean time, I wanted to give you a sneak peak of two of the pieces that are helping to make it happen!
