What to Wear to: A Casual New Years Eve Outfit and How to Have a More Relaxed New Years Eve

Can I let you in on a little secret? New Years Eve is not my favorite holiday. In fact, it’s not even in the top 10. Or 20. I’d actually be completely okay with skipping over the holiday. People just put too much pressure on it. Too much pressure to have plans or be crazy. No thank you. I’d like to continue being a grandma and go to bed early,

But since we’re here and life is life, I thought it’d be fun to brainstorm some fun and low key alternatives to show you how to have a more relaxed New Years Eve

How to Have a More Relaxed New years Eve

Babysitting

Hello goldmine. Seriously, if you want to make some good money, tonight is the night to do it. If you know anyone with kids, call them up and offer yourself as tribute for the evening. The parents will LOVE the chance to actuallly get to go out for once on New Years.
Then once the kids go to bed, you can just chill and watch a movie.

Game Night

Get a bunch of your favorite board games from growing up, throw in a few new ones, invite some friends over, and host a game night! If you want to save money, you could have everyone bring a dish and do dinner and dessert potluck style. It’ll be a fun way to hang out with your friends with zero pressure.

Movie Night

When was the last time you invite friends over to watch a movie? Or marathon one of your favorite tv shows? Why not do it slumber party style and pull out the popcorn, ice cream, and cookie dough? But the best part of this slumber party is that everyone gets to go sleep in their own beds at the end of the night instead of a sleeping bag.

Go to the Movies

My family did this on New Years growing up and it was one of my favorite things. We’d go out to dinner and then pick a fun movie to go see. Some theaters can get a little crowded though, so if you want to do this, make sure to order your tickets ahead of time to be safe.

Find Your City’s Events Calendar

Of the three cities I’ve lived in, all of them have had SOME website where you could find all the free things going on (or at least an easy way to track down all the free things). Take advantage of that on New Years! Everything might not be amazing, but you never know what fun events you may find.

Check Out My Post From Last Year!

Did you know that last year I put together a list of fairly inexpensive last minute things you can do on New Year’s Eve? Make sure you check that out while you plan your night!

So what do you have planned for New Years? Do you have a similar attitude towards it as I do?
