You know what puts me in a super holiday mood? Holiday movies and books! Most people blast Christmas music to get them there and I enjoy the cheery music, but I’m all about the movie and books vibes. Combine it with a cup of hot chocolate or peppermint chocolate tea, a blanket, and I’m ready to go.

I put together a list of books for you guys last year and I thought it would be fun to do it again this year. Last year’s theme was holiday books that aren’t centered around Christmas, but this year…it’s kind of a mix. Partially because I was given two Christmas-y books to review and the others are just centered around the holidays. What can I say, the holidays are just a good time to bring the family back together and it makes for a good story.

Okay, let’s stop talking and get to the books!

Holiday Books to Get You in the Holiday Mood

Christmas From the Heart by Sheila Roberts

Note: I received this novel in exchange for an honest review. As always, all opinions are my own.

This book was so cheesy and do-gooder-y, but I couldn’t stop reading. It’s a little bit of a scrooge story, combine with a light romance, and a secret identity (though that sounds far more dramatic than it actually is). I wouldn’t suggest this book to everyone, but if you want a light book that will make you super happy, remind you to donate to charity, and will be a quick read, this is a great option.

A Wedding in December by Sarah Morgan

Note: I received this novel in exchange for an honest review. As always, all opinions are my own.

Your sister/daughter is getting married! Except she’s getting married in four weeks, to a man she’s only been dating for three months, and no one in her family has met because she’s been living in America (for three months) and everyone else lives in England. What do you do? You book everyone tickets and fly over there! But you also decide to hide the fact from her that her parents are in the process of getting a divorce and the older sister is only going over there to try to knock some sense into her sister and stop the wedding. You also get a pretty fun fiction book.

This book had a lot of potential to fall flat, whether it was from underdeveloped characters or a predictable plot line, but it managed to repeatedly surprise me. The characters had depth and grew as the novel continued. You felt empathy for the characters and wanted to learn more about their backstories. This novel felt a little bit like an Emily Griffin novel, so I think if you enjoyed those, you would enjoy this.

Seven Days of Us by Francesca Hornak *

If you want to take a break from your dysfunctional family, come hang out with this one! When the eldest daughter comes back from her work as a doctor over seas, the entire family goes into quarantine with her for seven days over Christmas. Which they haven’t all celebrated together in a a while. Oh and the dad and mom are hiding some pretty big secrets from everyone.

Last Christmas in Paris: A Novel of World War I by Hazel Gaynor *

This novel is so good, I haven’t met anyone who hasn’t enjoyed it. I listened to it on audio, which I was iffy about, but it was still amazing. It takes place right at the beginning of World War One, when a sister sends her brother and his best friend off to war. She starts sending them letters and they all expect it to be quick and everyone will be home in time for Christmas. But their letters quickly pick up and Christmas comes and goes. The book continues through their correspondences and it’s so amazing to see World War One unfold through the eyes of a soldier and someone at home. Pick up this book as soon as possible.

Royal Holiday (The Wedding Date #4) by Jasmine Guillory

I reviewed this book already, but this would definitely be a fun holiday read. After all, there is nothing better than Christmas in England!

Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey

Okay, another book I reviewed already (literally last week), but this book takes place during winter. So it’ll be a fun way to get you in the holiday mood! Plus, it’s a rom com and is there anything better than a holiday rom com?

Christmas Shopaholic (Shopaholic #9) by Sophie Kinsella

I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how excited they are for this novel, so I just picked it up. I’ve only listened to a little bit of it on audiobook so far, so I can’t really review it yet. But, I’ll update this once I’ve finished it!

What holiday books are you reading? Let me know if you have any suggestions for me!
