Why is shopping for parents so difficult sometimes? It’s like the expectation can be so high and you want to buy something that they’ll like, but also not be offended by. Now, I think that I lucked out with my parents because I can just ask my mom what she wants and I’m pretty decent at guessing with my dad. But I know that it’s not that way with everyone, so let’s talk about parent appropriate gifts.

Gift Guide for Parents and In-Laws

Gift Guide for Parents and In-Laws

For this list I decided to divide it up by price. That way you can easily find something in your price range that’s perfect for you. Also, the price ranges are a little higher than normal, but it’s your parents. They raised you. Go bigger.

The Gift Guide for Parents and In-Laws, Grandkids Spoiled Here Doormat

Grandkids Spoiled Here Doormat

Easy and inexpensive gift with a high parental impact. But, maybe don’t give this if you don’t have kids yet.

Cherry Pit Therapeutic Heat Pillow

Cherry Pit Therapeutic Heat Pillow

I’m going to add a warning to this gift: it can be a great present if it’s given to the right person. But do not just give a heat pillow willy-nilly. This is one of those gifts that have to be given with a reason (they live somewhere cold, they get migraines, or maybe they have surgery coming up). But given to the right person, it’s a great gift.

Anthropologie Faux Fur Throw Blanket

Faux Fur Throw Blanket

I had this blanket on my wedding registry and my mom loved the blanket so much that she kept threatening to steal it. So not only with she be getting one, but it’s a good present for any household or parent.

Small Outdoor Fire Pit

Small Outdoor Fire Pit

Do you parents love a fireplace but they’ve downsized to a smaller space? This is the perfect solution. It’s a small fire pit (3.5″ by 5″) that they can just place on a table top.

andSons Chocolatiers Signature Collection Box

andSons Chocolatiers Signature Collection Box

There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting a box of chocolates for your in-laws. But at least go a little fancier with it (no boxes from CVS!). The box they come in is not only beautiful, but each piece of chocolate looks like a little piece of art. The flavors look great as well.

scrabble

Fancy Scrabble (and other board games)

Is your family a board game family? If yes, then step things up a notch by getting them a fancier version of their favorite game. You know that it’ll get a lot of use and it’ll look great when its out.

TUSHY Classic 3.0 Bidet Toilet Seat Attachment

TUSHY Classic 3.0 Bidet Toilet Seat Attachment

Would this be a silly gift to give? Yes, definitely, BUT it is a great toilet upgrade that most people would enjoy. (Yes, I’m laughing at the phrase toilet upgrade.)

Smart Digital Frame

Smart Digital Frame

What parent wouldn’t love a picture frame filled with photos of their children and grand children? Plus, if you’re competitive with your siblings, just fill it with pictures of you and your kids and leave them out.

Towel Warmer

Towel Warmer

There is nothing better than a warm towel right after you get out of the shower. So give your parents that feeling of joy as well.

Miko Shiatsu Foot Massager

Miko Shiatsu Foot Massager

Who doesn’t love a foot massage? That’s it. You can’t go wrong with this. Just make sure to show them how easy it is to use, so they’ll actually use it and it won’t become just another unused presents.

Higher Than $150

Fellow Stagg Kettle

Fellow Stagg Kettle

Do your parents love hosting? If so, this is the perfect gift for them to use for after dinner coffee and tea. It’ll also look great sitting out, so they’ll love having it on display.

Ooni Fyra Outdoor Home Pizza Oven

Ooni Fyra Outdoor Home Pizza Oven

At $350, this is a pretty big present to give, but if your parents love hanging out in the backyard, this is a great present. They’ll love getting to show off cooking pizzas to their friends and maybe you’ll even get one when you visit home.
