Do Something Good
Have you heard about Hamilton? If not, you’ve clearly been living under a rock. He’s on our $10 bill and came up with US financial system! Oh, that, and he’s the focus of a pretty famous, constantly growing in popularity hiphop/rap musical. However, the real hero of the story? Eliza, his wife. After Hamilton’s passing, she not only went through all of his papers to spread his work, but she also started the first private orphanage in New York City. Since it’s starting in 1806, it’s become the huge social services agency, Graham Windham and serves more than 4,000 of the city’s most vulnerable children.

Phillipa Soo, the amazing actress who plays Eliza in the musical, is starting a project called, “The Eliza Project.” This program will recruit other singers and actors to give acting, dancing, and rap lessons to the children involved with the agency.

Soo has been working on “The Eliza Project” for months already and I’m excited to see how it grows more in the future!
