Casual Work From Home Outfit (Or an Outfit for a Quick Walk!)

It’s been four weeks of working from home now and I’ve more or less gotten myself into a little routine. Workouts in the morning (or at least most mornings), and then tv and needlepoint in the evenings. Also, trying to go on some short walks by myself whenever I can just to stretch my legs and get a little sunshine.

I’ve also hit the point where I no longer want to wear leggings or sweatpants every day. I’m actually craving to put on some real clothes. Okay, maybe not full on real clothes, but like, boyfriend jeans and cozy sweaters. Thank god I’ve spend the last few months investing in the most comfortable clothes.

What does casual work outfits look like? It’s super comfortable clothing that’s still brunched appropriate. Or just outside appropriate.

Pants, Pants, Pants

When it comes to your pants, sweatpants are not the answer. You should look to your most broken-in pair of jeans or drawstring pants like this J.Crew pair. Jeggings are great too. After all, they’re leggings that look like jeans.

There’s also no harm going into the skirts world if that’s your jam. Especially if you have some super cozy maxi skirts, that would be excellent.

(Also, the people who keep insulting jean wear-ers, stop judging. Let people be happy however they want to be happy.)

Tops to Wear

For me, it’s been all about the sweaters. I wasn’t ready to put away my warm winter sweaters yet, so I’ve been really happy to keep wearing them. I didn’t realize how chilly my apartment got during the day and my crewneck collection has been perfect. Cozy cardigans have also been a go-to for me.

Since I’ve been needing to layering, my tee collection has also gotten a full workout. BUT I’ve made sure that if my tee is actually visible, I’m only wearing solid colors. No graphic tees for conference calls!

Shoes

What are shoes?

Just kidding. Kind of. If I’m at home, it’s slippers or nothing. If I HAVE to leave the house (which at this point is only for the grocery store or my walks) then it’s either super comfortable flats or sneakers. This pair is a great slip-on option for running to the grocery store. If you wear shoes inside your house, they would also be a great pair.
