Celebrating a Quarantine Birthday with Basic Invite

Note: Today’s post is sponsored by Basic Invite. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Something Good.

At this point, I think most of us have at least one friend who has celebrated their birthday in quarantine. Or you’ve celebrated your own birthday in quarantine. It’s a little different, obviously. So why not lean into the fact that it’s different and do a few things to make it a little more fun?

Basic Invite

1. Host a Virtual Party

I haven’t thrown myself a party in a while, but it’s quarantine, so all rules are off. Plus, a virtual party is so easy. No one has to get dressed up (unless they want to) and you don’t have to leave your house. It’s the best of all worlds.

Whether it’s on Zoom, Google Hangouts, or Facetime, the platform doesn’t really matter, as long as your guests have an easy way to get on the platform.

2. Send out REAL invitations with Basic Invite

When was the last time you sent out a real invitation? Years ago for your father’s 40th invitation? (I believe I was 6 then and we did in fact throw a rager.) That’s what I thought. Have some fun go and spend your afternoon on Basic Invite creating fun birthday card invites! And yes, you could loose an afternoon on this site.

Why? Well, not because it’s hard, but because Basic Invite is one of the few websites that gives you almost unlimited (okay, 180) color options with instant previews online. You could do a basic birthday card or if you have a theme for your party, center it around that. Once you select a design, you can change the color of each element on the card to make it exactly how you want it. I don’t know any other company that lets you do that.

Don’t forget to get matching envelopes to go with your birthday party invites! All of the envelopes are peel and seal so they can be closed quickly and securely. That way you don’t have to worry about dehydration by the 40th invitation.

Yes, Basic Invite thought of everything.

No, I didn’t forget about the digital part

I know, I know, virtual party, you need a link to get into the party. Good think Basic Invite gives you the option of a FREE WEBSITE where you can put in all of the information and the link to get into the party. Guests can also RSVP here with a password from the invites. We’re getting super fancy here.

By the way, if you’d like to try out Basic Invite, right now they’re offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51. Do it and let me know what colors you choose!

3. Send a Party Pack

Some may call this going overboard. I call it party planning. Pick up a few flat rate padded envelopes from the post office (or order them for free online) and stuff them with what your guests need for the party!

Some of my ideas include:

Just get creative with it and have fun, it’s your birthday after all! After you’ve packed it to the brim, print out your mailing labels and send it out to your guests.

4. Get online and party!

Now that everyone has their invitation and party pack all that’s left is to get online and have your party!

Yes, this may seem like a bit much, but we all need something to look forward to right now, no matter how frivolous or ridiculous it may seem. Throwing yourself a virtual birthday party or sending out invites for any party may be just what you need to help brighten up this pandemic period.

P.S. Make sure to check out Basic Invite on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter!
