August actually flew by and I’m totally okay with it. It was also a month of a lot more clothing shopping than I’ve done most of the summer. Let’s go!

I knew that this wasn’t going to be a “no spend” month going into it. (September isn’t going to be either.) There were some “nicer” comfy clothes that I wanted and after a month of no spending, I felt okay making some orders.

Also, going into this month, I knew that there were some sales coming up, that I would probably shop. But I wasn’t exactly ready for the hurdle that would be thrown my way. First, this was probably the least I’ve ever spent at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Why? Well, that whole credit card debacle thing. I bought a few things on my non-Nordstrom card (the blazer above and some underwear) and my friend grabbed one or two things for me (which I haven’t gotten from her yet). But by the time I finally got my card, everything I wanted was basically sold out and I was over the whole sale. I was a little annoyed, but it was actually kind of a relief. So I guess that ended up working out in the end?

The two things that did end up throwing me for a loop though was the work dress I ended up picking up! I had stated multiple times how I wasn’t really getting work clothes (other than things that could be seen on camera). But when I tried this dress on, I loved it so much that I didn’t care. I figure you can see the top half of it on camera, so it still works, right?

Looking ahead to September, there are some Labor Day sales coming up and I want half of J.Crew’s new arrivals….so I’m going to have to keep a close eye on my budget for next month.
