I told you there’s been a lot of retail therapy in my life lately. While I’ve been hitting up some of my normal spots (Everlane, J.Crew Factory, Nordstrom), I’ve also been dipping my toe into the Amazon summer styles pond! First, because I’ve wanted some maxi dresses and I had such success with my finds last summer. Second, the prices on here are amazing! You can find some really good prices and you know how much I love a deal.

Check out my reviews below to see what I kept and what I returned.

Amazon Women Wide Leg Long Lounge Pants Loose Halter Sleeveless Jumpsuit, Amazon Summer Styles

Amazon Women Wide Leg Long Lounge Pants Loose Halter Sleeveless Jumpsuit, Size S, Blue

And the shortness strikes again! This jumpsuit is so cute, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how well the length links works considering that this is a small (Amazon sizing man.). The only issue is that I’m still petite, so if I decide to keep it, I would need to get it taken at the waist and on the sides. I can’t decide if it’s worth it though.

Verdict: I don’t knowwwww!

Amazon Dress for Women V Neck Loose Plain Casual Long Maxi Dresses with Pockets, Amazon Summer Styles

Amazon Dress for Women V Neck Loose Plain Casual Long Maxi Dresses with Pockets, XS, Navy

Alright, let’s do a little more compare and constrasting between this dress and the dress below. First, the fabric on this is much much smother than I expected. It’s great, but it also meant that every bump or contrast was on display. This especially sucked with the pockets which had too much fabric. I love pockets on a dress, but they were just so bumpy, they just didn’t work.

Verdict: Return

Amazon Loose Sleeveless Deep V Neck Summer Beach Maxi Long Dress, Amazon Summer Styles

Amazon Loose Sleeveless Deep V Neck Summer Beach Maxi Long Dress, Size Small, Royal Blue

Okay, so this maxi dress had a similar cut, but two main differences. First, the material wasn’t as silky/smooth cotton. It’s much closer to a regular cotton. Second, the length was much shorter! It’s pretty funny actually since this was a small and the other was an extra small, but hey, that’s what happens when you shop random brands on Amazon. This dress also has pockets, but they lay much flatter, so it’s much more flattering.

Verdict: Keep

Amazon Women's Casual Loose Pocket Long Dress Short Sleeve Split Maxi Dress, Amazon Summer Styles

Amazon Women’s Casual Loose Pocket Long Dress Short Sleeve Split Maxi Dress, Navy Blue, XS

I need to give a note about this dress before I go any further: this dress you’re seeing in these pictures is the dress post hemming. I took off about an inch/inch and a half because I wanted to be able to wear this dress with flat sandals and it was a bit too long for that. Otherwise, I love this dress. It’s so comfortable and made of that smoother material I mentioned earlier. It also has pockets, but they lay much better on this dress. Plus, the sleeves mean that you don’t have to worry about your shoulders getting a sun burn!

Verdict: Keep

BP. Linen Blend Camisole Top

BP. Linen Blend Camisole Top, X-Small, Blue

I don’t know how I feel about this tank. It’s light and breezy because of the linen blend. I also love the color, but is it just meh? The straps are adjustable and I know I had them way too long for this picture, which definitely is effecting my feelings about the camisole. I think I need to try it on again with an outfit I would actually wear it with before making any final decisions.

Verdict: Undecided.

J.Crew Factory Faux-wrap pull-on midi skirt

J.Crew Factory Faux-wrap pull-on midi skirt in print, Ivory/Red, XS

Users in the J.Crew comments sections were pretty mixed over this skirt, some said it ran big and some said it was true to size. Well, I’m about half way inbetween. I think the length is great, but the waist actually felt a hair too big. The skirt has an elastic waistband and it just felt too roomy around my waist (and not in a good way). I think this skirt would be a lot of fun if I sized down, but I don’t love it enough to find out.

Verdict: Return.

J.Crew Factory Striped T-shirt dress

J.Crew Factory Striped T-shirt dress, Navy/White Stripes, XS

After how comfortable the first dress was, how could I not order a second?! This one is just as perfect. It’s true to size and still has plenty of room that it’s not tight or too fitted. It really is the perfect t-shirt dress. If you haven’t bought it yet, go buy one for yourself RIGHT NOW.

Verdict: Keeping. Duh.

J.Crew Factory Eyelet collared tie-front dress

J.Crew Factory Eyelet collared tie-front dress, White, XS

This dress got the most mixed reviews ever, I was so nervous to buy it and I had no idea what size to even buy it in. So let’s just break down the good and bad of this dress. Let’s just get the bad out of the way first though. First, the top isn’t lined, but the bottom is. Why? I have no idea. Second, you can’t really tell from this picture, but there is an excessive amount of fabric in the top half of this dress. It’s like it fits my shoulders perfectly, there’s a lot of fabric from my armpits to my waist, and then it’s fine. Finally, the knotted tie at the waist does nothing to actually adjust the tightness of the dress.

The good: It had potential and it was only $19.99. The skirt part is really cute and I think that the top half may be adjustable on the sides by my tailor. I’m not sure yet, but I’m going to take it to him and see what he says. I also can wear a tank underneath the dress if I wear it to work, but for non-work situations, it’s actually not that bad.

Verdict: I think I’m going to keep it, pending my tailor.

J.Crew Factory Wide-let button-front pant

J.Crew Factory Wide-leg button-front pant in slub cotton, Size: 25, Navy

Wide-leg pants, my enemy, my friend. This is actually the first pair I’ve tried on that have actually worked on me. The material is stretchy, the cut is great. The issues? Well, first is that the buttons. I hate buttons on pants and this one had SO MANY. Second, this pants would definitely require tailoring. Yes, I know I was just talking about tailoring that dress, but I’ve spent a lot of money on tailoring this summer and it’s getting expensive. So when I’m already annoyed with the buttons, it’s a little easier to say no.

Verdict: Return

Old Navy Waist-Defined Sleeveless V-Neck Jumpsuit

Old Navy Waist-Defined Sleeveless V-Neck Jumpsuit, Olive, XS Petite

After all of my jealously over Anne’s green jumpsuit, I was so excited when Old Navy finally got a green jumpsuit in my size! This one first true to size and is super comfortable. The only note I have to add is that there’s no extra zipper or buttons to get into it. You literally just put your feet in or pull it up.

Verdict: Keep

Old Navy Sleeveless Fit & Flare Jersey Midi Dress
Old Navy Sleeveless Fit & Flare Jersey Midi Dress

Old Navy Sleeveless Fit & Flare Jersey Midi Dress, Navy & Yellow, XSP

Isn’t this dress adorable?! It fits true to size and I love the stretchy jersey material it’s made out of. I normally would go for the navy color, but this time I’ve decided to mix it up a little and I’m keeping the yellow! I really do love them both though.

Verdict: Keeping the yellow, returning the blue (I can’t spend all of my money)

That’s all for now. Let me know your thoughts and if you’re going to pick up any of the things here (or if you have any good Amazon finds)!
