Yes, I’m still sweater shopping when everyone is starting to think about summer weather. Personally, I like to think of it as stocking up on on-sale sweaters in anticipation of next winter. Either way, here are some of the Nordstrom sweaters and dresses I picked up to try out during some online shopping.
Halogen® Bow Back Sweater, XS navy
This sweater sold out in all of the smaller so quickly! I decided to try out the regular XS, despite all of the reviews saying that it runs big. Well, the reviews were right and this sweater was just a bit too big. I think it would have been perfect in a XSP or maybe even an XXSP. It’s super soft though and very cozy. The bows on the back also laid pretty flat, but I don’t know if they would stick out more after a wash or two.
Verdict: Return, but I may keep any eye out for smaller sizes/colors coming back in stock.
Halogen® Bow Back Sweater, XS, stripe
Halogen is apparently really into the bow thing right now because they also had a brand new and less expensive sweater available that also featured bows on the back! I decided to try out their colorful stripes, but honestly, I just felt too overwhelmed by all of the different colors (I typically would just wear one or two). The fit was okay, but maybe a bit roomy. The fabric is not as thick or fuzzy as the above sweater. It’d be great for layering though!

Halogen® Bow Back Sweater, XSP, black
Yes, I got the sweater in two colors. I had to try the petite vs regular for you, right? Personally, I prefer the petite fit of this sweater, which felt much more true to size for me. The black was also a much more comfortable color for me to wear as well. Plus, the bows on the back of this one are gingham! Could it get any cuter? The fabric is the same as above: not very thick, but great for layering.
Verdict: Keep
Eliza J Cowl Neck Sweater Dress, XS, Navy
Honestly, I just wanted to try this one on because it was actually in stock in my size (for the first time ever). My first thought when I picked up the dress? It was heavy! All of the knit fabric lead to that dress being much heavier to pick up than I expected. It was much better when I put it on though. The fit was fine, but I felt like I would have benefited more from a petite sizing. The torso felt a little too long. However, I was so impressed by the knit details on this dress! Look at the close up, isn’t that pattern beautiful?? Sadly, this dress just wasn’t exactly what I was looking for.
Verdict: Return
American Eagle Soft Turtleneck Dress, XS
Okay, no this sweater dress isn’t from Nordstrom, but I was really hoping that this would be the winning sweater dress, so I wanted to include it anyways. I just wasn’t in love with it when I got it. Everything just felt a little off. The collar was a little too big, the color not navy enough, the material just a bit too chunky. On someone else it would be perfect. For me though, I just wasn’t feeling it.
Verdict: Return
