Shopping Reviews, Vol. 54: The J.Crew New Arrivals

Welcome to my newfound weakness: the J.Crew new arrivals section. It’s filled with part ridiculous finds, but there are also some amazing pieces in there. They also happened to put a few of them of sale almost immediately. Who was I to say no to trying them on?

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 54: The J.Crew New Arrivals | Something Good, @danaerinw , J. Crew mock neck shirt

J.Crew Ribbed Mockneck Three-Quarter Sleeve T-Shirt Navy, XS

I can not figure out what drew me to this top! In the past would I have ever gone for it? Probably not. Especially a mockneck top. Now, I saw it and I immediately knew that I wanted it and how I would wear it.  The top is true to size, light weight, but not too thin. As you can also see in the picture, it is also pretty fitted. That makes it a great layering piece, but it could easily be worn by itself as well.

Verdict: Keep

J.Crew Ribbed Mockneck Three-Quarter Sleeve T-Shirt Ivory, XS

Do I need another white top? Will I wear another white top? Is this shirt too ivory instead of white? I can’t decide. So help! I definitely like this top and I’ll wear it, which makes me feel like I should just keep it.

Verdict: undecided.

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 54: The J.Crew New Arrivals | Something Good, @danaerinw , J. Crew reversible v-back long sleeve tunic

J.Crew Reversible V-Back Long Sleeve Tunic, XXS, Navy

All of the reviews on this top said that it ran large, so I listened. And they were right, it runs large! So size down a full size…or maybe two. I’m not the biggest fan of when the v-neck is in the front. I had a really hard time getting it to stay in place and not slip to show my bra. If I want to wear it this way, I’ll need that tape again. However, I loved it with the v in the back. I was able to wear it with a regular bra with no problems. Especially since it has snaps in the shoulders to hold my bra straps in place. That way they don’t slip out and become visible.

Oh also, the fabric is ridiculously soft.

Verdict: Keep….but maybe keep the v in the back.

Everything I said above still rings true….but I just wasn’t as in love with this sweater in the pink color. I don’t know why.

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 54: The J.Crew New Arrivals | Something Good, @danaerinw , J. Crew warp bodysuit

J.Crew Wrap Bodysuit Black , XS

So yes, I’ve started to like body suits, but I have yet to actually buy one. I just haven’t found one that I like yet. I think these might be the winners though. These bodysuits fit true to size. Additionally, the snap at the bottom makes them easy to get on and off. The only downside is that the v-neck can shift around a little and cut low. If I’m going to wear it to work (which I want to), I’m going to need to use tape to make it stay in place.

Verdict: Keep

J.Crew Wrap Bodysuit Navy, XS

Everything above + I love wearing navy.

Verdict: Keep.

J.Crew Mercantile Waffle Henley, XS

There was nothing really remarkable about this top. I wasn’t in love with the scoop neck and over all it just felt meh. Plus, it was kind of see through. The top was only $12, so it wouldn’t be much of a loss to keep it, but why would I lose $12 and take up closet space on something I didn’t love or want to wear?

Verdict: Return

What about you? Are you a fan of the J.Crew New Arrivals section?
