Everlane: The Black Friday Fund

Every year on Black Friday, while everyone goes crazy with sales, Everlane likes to do something different. One year, they completely shut down their site for all of Friday. But in the past few years they’ve started a tradition I absolutely love.

Everlane: The Black Friday Fund | Something Good | A Style Blog

The Black Friday Fund.

Each year on Black Friday, Everlane turns their attention to their factories and reaches out to them to see what they need. Last year, they provided a helmet to every worker in their factory in Vietnam.

This year, they’re partnering with the world’s cleanest denim factory (FYI Everlane’s denim factory)–to build the world’s cleanest farm. At this factory, Saitex, they provide their workers with one free meal per shift, but they want to provide two meals. They also want the food to be guaranteed to be 100% safe, healthy, and pesticide-free. This is a task that would be easy if pesticide use wasn’t rampant across Vietnam and regulation enforcement is essentially nonexistent.

So what’s Everlane’s Solution?

They’re working with Freight Farms to build the world’s cleanest farm—inside a shipping crate.

The goal? $300,000.

$300,000 to provide free meals every day, for 4,000 workers. Plus, All profits from Black Friday sales will be donated up to $150,000. Saitex is matching our contribution dollar for dollar.

How do you contribute?
