So how did my October No Spend Month work out? Well…not too bad? Kind of?

Um, Dana, you spent $229.38. Can you read correctly?

I know. And yes, I can. Well, you see, the funny thing is is that I only actually bought two of these items in October. Everything except for the J.Crew Tie Back Shirt and the Embroidered Tie Waist Skirt were things that I ordered in September, but then they didn’t arrive until October. But I still paid for them in September. It was a very odd loophole.

Is it cheating?

Honestly, I don’t know. But the good thing about this being my budget is that I get to decide. I also get to guilt myself about it later if I choose to. (Ha!) The two J.Crew items were things I was eyeing, but had completely sold out in my size online and I came across them when I stopped into a J.Crew store last weekend. I don’t know if that’s a sign or a good excuse…but whatever.

I’m going to stop over thinking this though and ask you, did you get anything this month? Did you do a no shopping month?

Also, if you’ve got holiday shopping on your mind, I want you to be the first to hear about the holiday savings challenge that I’m hosting in a few weeks! It’s going to be an easy five day challenge to help you save money this holiday season (and even make a little money back). 1. Those brocade loafers are AMAAAAZING!

  2. I cheated a bit on my October shopping freeze too – a couple of great sales/gift card opportunities came by on two items that I had been watching, so I ended up spending $33.Due to travel in November and December and Christmas gifts, I’m going to try my best to keep the freeze going the rest of the year.

    • Hey, I think gift cards are an okay cheat reason then, lol. I have faith in you for November and December though. You can do it!

  3. I cheated a little, but only if you count socks. Which I don’t, because I needed black socks to go under my black booties for work. So I feel pretty good about my no-shopping October. 🙂
