This week, I wanted to share something pretty awesome that Athleta is doing. Remember Athleta? It’s the active wear brand of the Gap, Inc. family.  They’ve been running a “Power of She” campaign to promote women lifting one another up. The newest part of that campaign? The Empower Bra. The Empower Bra is a bra designed specifically for women who have had to undergo a mastectomy as part of their treatment or preventative care plan for breast cancer. This sports bra has a specific front zip closure that is specifically for sensitive scar tissue and pockets that expand and adjust to make room for any post surgery implants.

I’m so excited to see that Athleta is taking this step to help women in recovery and help make working out for them as seamless as possible. Plus, twelve percent of the proceeds will be donated to “Recovery on Water” a Chicago-based rowing club for breast cancer survivors.
