Budgeting Tips: Amazon Subscribe and Save

I thought it’d be fun today to share one of my newest saving tips that I’ve been using over the past couple of months: Amazon Subscribe and Save.

Budgeting Tips: Amazon Subscribe and Save | Something Good

Before you think “but I don’t have Amazon Prime” or “oy another Amazon thing” and abandon this article, just quit your whining and keep reading. This this is a good one, I promise.

Let me explain what it is first.

Amazon Subscribe and Save is a service that you can set up to deliver the products you need on a monthly(ish) basis. It’s available to anyone, regardless of whether or not they use Amazon Prime.

Is it actually that simple? Yes.

Now let’s go into the details of the program and why exactly I love it.

1. What can I use it for?
EVERYTHING (and anything). I use it to buy bulk bags of almonds, my mascara, swiffer refills, chia seeds.
I would love to use it for toilet paper and paper towels, but I don’t have the storage space for that in my apartment.

3. You can change your delivery dates.
With subscribe and save, you’re set to get a shipment every month, but you can move around items and set their shipping terms. For instance, I know it’ll take me about three months to go through a bulk bag of almonds, so I set it to be in my subscribe and save shipment every three months. This past month, I noticed that I awas almost out of almonds early, so I adjusted it to be in this month’s shipment. I also only need swiffer refills twice a year, so I set those to come once every six months. If I need them sooner, I can easily just move things around.

You also don’t have to have something ship every month. I had nothing ship in April or May and then a full package ship in June. It goes by your schedule and what you want and need.

2. Discounts
Oh man, this program loves discounts. First, all of the items in this program are discounted. My mascara is normally $12 at CVS and it’s $6 on Amazon. If you get the product through subscribe and save, they’ll take an extra 5% off of that product. Sneaky tip, since you’re supposed to replace your mascara every three months, I have my mascara set to be sent to me every three months. That way I know to change it once a new one arrives.

Also, if your monthly subscribe and save order has at least 5 products, you’ll get 15% off of every item instead of 5%. So if you can get at least 5 things in your cart, do it!

3.Coupons
Okay, this could have gone under discounts, but Amazon will allow you to clip and add coupons to products if they’re available, bringing the price down even more! These seem to randomly appear, but they’re pretty great when they do!

4. Free shipping
You know I think that people who pay for shipping are suckers. Since I have prime, shipping is almmost always free. But, shipping is free on Subscribe and Save for everyone!

So go subscribe and save!

Have you tried out Amazon Subscribe and Save before? Do you think you’ll try it out now?
