Getting Ready for the Week With My Sunday Night Ritual

I was sitting here and trying to figure out what I wanted to share with you this week. The problems of Sunday night scaries and a little of Sunday night brain drain. Then I realized the perfect solution! Why not share with you my Sunday night ritual and what I do to get ready for the week?

My full day on Sunday can tend to vary, so I don’t have a full day long ritual. Sometimes I’m working at Pure Barre, sometimes I get to sleep in, and sometimes I’m traveling back from somewhere. But I always try to keep my Sunday evening free so I can use that time to wind down and get ready for the week ahead.

By Sunday evening, I’ve normally already done my grocery shopping, so I start my  meal prep. I normally make one to two meals for the week and then eat the leftovers throughout the week. Depending on what the meal are, I might make both meals, or make one and prep the other. While those meals start cooking, I’ll start throwing a load of laundry in. I’m pretty lucky because my washer and dryer are not only in my apartment, but they’re steps away from my kitchen.

Once my meal is ready, I’ll sit down to eat. After that it’s back to the kitchen to prep my lunches and breakfasts for the week. To make my life simple, I eat (mostly) the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day. For breakfast, I scoop out 1/2 cup of old fashioned oats into bags and then mix in some brown sugar, cinnamon, and ground chia seeds. Lunch is some variation on a salad.

If I’m lucky, I have all of this done around 7/7:30 and then I can take a shower and wash my hair (yay clean hair). I then settle in for some dessert and an episode or two of something. For Sunday nights, it’s typically the newest episode of Once Upon a Time. My friend Kirti and I will watch the episode together while we gchat with one another. If there isn’t a new episode, we sometimes will pull an old one up on Netflix. This is when I also try to be a good blogger and finish up Monday’s post.

Once 9pm hits, I try to shut down my computer and start getting ready for bed. I’ll get my daily pill packs ready for the week with my migraine pills and vitamins, and throw anything I may need for work tomorrow in my bag.

Before I go to bed, I’ll lay on my acupressure pillow for a few minutes while I catch up on snapchat and instagram stories. Then I’ll read in bed for a little bit, fill out my line a day journal, and then it’s lights out!

Do you have a Sunday night ritual?
