Up until this past year, if you had asked me if I had any sort of beauty routine, I probably would have just laughed.

I’ve been pretty lucky when it comes to the skin department. My skin is pretty clear, other than the occasional zit or two (sorry to my sister for not sharing these genes). So I haven’t had to think that much about it.
But over the past year, I’ve started to take a harder look at my health and beauty routines. I’ve gotten a little more serious about eating healthy (if we ignore the fact that I just finished up a week of sugar from my birthday) and working out frequently. I’ve also gotten a little more serious about taking care of my skin. While my lackadaisical approach to beauty was definitely fun and easy, I know that my 20 something skin isn’t going to stay this easy forever. That was definitely reinforced to me this past winter.
We had a fairly mild winter in DC this year, but the weather went up and down a lot. The constant change in temperature took a serious toll on my skin. I noticed that my skin was frequently drying out and it was just getting worse. I swear, I spent half of the winter reapplying lotion to my hands, face, legs, my entire body. If taking a bath in lotion was an option, I probably would have done it (okay, this is getting weird).
Now that it’s getting warmer (ish), the drying out has gone down, but it’s still an issue.
When Glow by Nature Made® asked me to try out their newest line of supplements, I was intrigued. I actually take Nature Made® supplements for magnesium and iron, but I haven’t really tried out any other types of supplements. (They scare me, but I don’t know why). But Glow by Nature Made® is a line of supplements that were created to help skin stay moisturized, but from the inside out*‡†. It’s something that I really need, so I’m excited to try it out.

I’ve just started taking the Glow by Nature Made® – Skin Moisture this week, so I’ll need to report back. But they’ve said that it helps to support skin hydration in as little as 15 days,*‡†, so hopefully I’ll start seeing results in a couple of weeks.
How do they do this? Well, let’s go into science a little bit (you can skip if you’re not as interested in this as me). Ceramides are a lipid component that is naturally found in your skin. It helps your skin stay hydrated by helping to form a lipid barrier within your skin to retain moisture. But, the ceramides need to replenish themselves. Glow By Nature Made® helps the ceramides replenish themselves by providing 70mg of Ceramosides. The Ceramosides help to then replenish the natural ceramides in your skin. Replenished ceramides: hydrated skin. Ta da!*‡†
If you’re interested, they also have a + Sleep and +Hair and Nails line. I’ve decided to start slow with just the skin moisture, but if it goes well, I might try out the + Sleep.
If you’re interested in try it out, they’re currently for sale at Target in vitamin/supplement aisle for around $13.99 each. You know I love a good sale though, so you can receive 10% off of them at Target.com if you use the promo GLOW (you’re welcome).
