Shopping Reviews, Vol. 38

Okay, we’re finally into the Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping reviews!

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 38 | Something Good, J.Crew Striped Boy Shirt with Tartan Pocket

J.Crew Striped Boy Shirt with Tartan Pocket, Size 0

After years of not being able to find any great button ups, I’ve been on a roll lately! I love the little details of the plaid pocket and the little extra plaid peeking out of the hem. The fit was true to size and the material was pretty comfortable. The shirt is currently sold out, but I would definitely watch it since I have a feeling it’ll come back in stock.

Verdict: Keep

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 38 | Something Good, J.Crew Bow Shoulder Top in Festive Plaid

J.Crew Bow Shoulder Top in Festive Plaid, Size 0

I wanted to like this top. I was so excited to like this top. But I honestly just felt meh about the fit. I loved the plaid print (it was perfect) and I almost considered keeping it just for the print. I wasn’t that much of a fan of the fit though and I couldn’t really get the bow to sit correctly.

Verdict: Return

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 38 | Something Good, Madewell Lakeside Peplum Shirt in Buffalo Plaid

Madewell Lakeside Peplum Shirt in Buffalo Plaid, Size XS

Okay, I’m sorry that this is such a crappy picture of such an amazing top. Honestly, blame it on the sun setting so early and being out of town on the weekends. But I love this top. you might remember that I have this top in blue stripes, so I already knew the fit would be good. What I wasn’t sure about was the print. I love the dark red and black buffalo print though. It was a fun twist on your basic plaid button up.

Verdict: Keep

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 38 | Something Good, Madewell Tie Front Wrap Sweater

Madewell Tie Front Wrap Sweater, Size XS

I’ve been waiting forever for this sweater to go on sale. And it lived up to the hype! The sweater isn’t pure white, it’s a little more ivory. It’s super soft though, like really really soft. The only thing I’m iffy about is how it lays when I tie it. The edges fall in on themselves, but that isn’t as bad when I tie it looser (how I tied it above). I’m still going back and forth, but I’m leaning towards yes on this one.

Verdict: Yes, maybe?

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 38 | Something Good, SheIn Leopard Pocket Top

SheIn Leopard Pocket Top, Size S

I liked the front of this top, but it all seemed to go wrong in the back. It did the whole hi-lo hem thing, but the lower hem went reallllllll low. It also gave the shirt this odd bow bottom. I’m going to see about returning it, but if it’s too expensive (sometimes SheIn has interesting return policies), I might try to get it tailored.

Verdict: Return

Shopping Reviews, Vol. 38 | Something Good, Lands End Womens Petite Lofty Turtleneck Tunic Sweater

Lands End Womens Petite Lofty Turtleneck Tunic Sweater, Size 0

Another one I’m iffy on. The petite sizing fits and fits perfectly. The top is comfortable and I could see me wearing it. The question is though, do I need another oversized sweater? I just can’t decide! Help!

Verdict: Help!

  1. I’ve really been wanting to try that tie sweater – I think it’s adorable!

  2. I want the green pants in the last photo. And I’d totally keep that tunic sweater.

I kept eyeing that J Crew bow plaid top, but I think I’d get too annoyed with the bow not sitting properly.

  3. Loving the plaid shirts and those green pants are awesome.

  4. Love the striped shirt in the first photo…. and then the front wrapped sweater is sooo chic!

  5. Cute sweaters, I really love the madewell one with the tie! It looks great on you!

  6. Love BOTH the printed pockets! they add just a little something extra.

  7. I love the button up! I can’t ever find a good one either!
