Shopping Reviews, Vol. 16

Oh man, it’s my last shopping reviews post before the crazy shopping weekend. Do you already have your list ready to go? I’ll be honest, I’m not sure if there’s that much if I actually want to get, but we’ll see how good the deals are (I will definitely be avoiding the actual stores though). However, before all of the online craziness starts, I want to make sure that you’re adequately prepared for all of the shopping.

If you haven’t already make sure that you’re signed up and ready to go on these sites:

To try stuff on at home without paying:
Try

To be alerted for sales: Shoptagr

To get cash back when you shop online:

To easily get the price adjusted if it changes after your purchase: Paribus

j.crew factory confetti sequin tee, women, fashion, style, clothing

I went back and forth on the top, but I really can’t resist a good striped top. Especially when it’s decorated and ready for holiday celebrations! The top is true to size, but I do have to warn you, if your skin is sensitive, you will definitely get annoyed by the stitching that keeps the sequins on. I thought it would bother be, but I got use to it after a few minutes.
Verdict: Keep

j.crew perfect shirt in steward plaid, women, fashion, style, clothing,

I really went back and forth on this top too. The fit was absolutely perfect (something I definitely struggle with when it comes to button ups), but ultimately the price was too high for me. I’m going to wait to see if it goes on sale, but I truthfully think it’ll sell out first.
Verdict: Return

j.crew factory black watch scarf plaid, women, fashion, style, clothing

I Had such high hopes for this scarf. I was looking for a black watch scarf for a while, but this one was far too thin. On top of that, it had a weird shape that I struggled with.

Verdict: Return

j.crew factory printed silky shirt, women, clothing, fashion, style

This skirt fit comfortable and the pleats in it actually didn’t bother me too much. I love the polka dots and coloring. However, I wasn’t in love with this skirt. Something just told me that I wouldn’t wear it as much to make it worth it.
Verdict: Retur

j.crew factory wool zip-pocket mini skirt, style, women, clothing, fashion

I love the tan version of this skirt, so buying it in a few other colors was kind of a no brainer. I’m not in love with this color though and I got a few others to try out, so I’m currently undecided about it (good thing I have a 60 day return window).

Verdict: Undecided

J.Crew striped suede-shoulder t-shirt, women, fashion, clothing, style

J.Crew Striped Suede-Shoulder T-Shirt (XS)
I thought the suede on this shirt added a fun twist to a normal striped shirt. The pink/nude color was really pretty in person and the shirt was overall true to size. I decided to not keep it though because I wasn’t in love with the top for the price it was at the time. The price has currently dropped though so I’m kind of reconsidering it.
Verdict: Return…for now.

J.Crew pleated leather skirt, women, style, fashion, clothing

Oh god, I was so in love with this skirt. I normally have a no pleats rule, but this skirt was seriously making me consider it. On top of that, the skirt was actually pretty comfortable. Unfortunately, the price tag made it a serious no go. (Note: I tried this skirt on through Try so I didn’t have to worry about charges.)

Verdict: Regretfully return

Talbots shirttail sweater, womens, clothing, style

Talbots Shirttail Sweater (Left: XS, Right: SP)
I’ve never tried Talbots before so I ordered this top in a XS and a petite small. I was in love with this top when I saw it on Anne, so I was pretty sure that one of the sizes would be a winner. I was planning on going with the regular XS, but I liked how the petite sizing was a little more fitted.
Verdict: Keep petite sizing

Striped Long-Sleeve T-Shirt with Shirttails J.Crew

Left: Blue XXS, Right: Black XS
If you haven’t noticed, I’m really into shirt tails right now. I thought this top would be fun to try on so I ordered it through Try. Oddly enough though, this sizing was really odd. The XXS (which is normally too small for me) was kind of bulky. Also, the sleeves on both were too long, even when I folded them up. I’m also normally a fan of the drop shoulder, but with the thick stripes, it didn’t really do much for me. However, I do have to applaud the fabric on this top. It was nice and thick and almost convinced me that I needed to keep the top just because the fabric was so wonderful.
Verdict: Return
